1-1-1 for Missions
Youth Ministry
English District Seeks Youth
Attention pastors, DCEs, or other youth workers: We are seeking two additional youth to attend the 2019 Lutheran Youth Fellowship Conference (LYF). LYF will host teenagers for its annual leadership development training March 14-17, 2019, at the Pallottine Renewal Center in suburban St. Louis.

Three youth will attend at District expense and will serve on the district Youth Advisory Council. We are seeking youth preferably in the ninth or tenth grades.
Please contact DCE Rod Lane by e-mail or by phone at 402-499-0807 if you have questions or have an interested youth. Please do not wait to contact me.
Calling all Church Workers! Youth Advisory Council (YAC)
The YAC is seeking four to five church workers to serve on its District leadership team. Who are we looking for? You! Are “You” wanting to assist and support other District congregations? If you are saying yes, I want to hear from you.

What can you expect from being a part of this group? You are welcome to serve through your strengths or your weaknesses.
In Ephesians 4:11-12 it says, “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” (ESV).

If you have a mustard seed of interest, please contact me, DCE Rod Lane, by e-mail or phone at 402-499-0807. I look forward to hearing from you.
LCMS Foundation—Smart and Easy Endowment Funding
Congregations and LCMS ministries looking for a simple way to generate income from assets have asked for our help. Many organizational leaders find themselves without the resources to create legal documents or investment policies, choose investment accounts and review statements. The easiest solution has been to put assets in a savings account that provides very little income in today’s market.

The LCMS Foundation now has a new option! Ministries can endow assets (minimum $10,000) with the Foundation and receive a perpetual income stream while keeping the corpus intact. Additions may be made to the fund at any time.

Ministry leaders can then focus time and resources on the mission instead of spending time on policies and governance responsibilities.

To find out more, email Ron Grimm, Gift Planning Counselor, or call him at 412-584-7039.
LCMS President Election Voter Registration
Each congregation and parish has already received an  LCMS President Election Voter Registration  form with which to register a pastoral and a lay voter for each congregation or parish.

Attendance at the District Convention is no longer required for a pastor or layperson to serve as an LCMS President Election Voter, since the 2016 Synod Convention eliminated that requirement.

Voter registration forms can only be accepted by the Office of the Synod Secretary until Sunday,  March 24, 2019
If your congregation has lost its registration form, please contact the Office of the Synod Secretary    or phone 314-996-1417 as soon as possible to obtain a replacement form.
Prayer Requests
There is power in prayer. Your prayer concerns are important to the English District. When you submit a prayer request, it will be posted in our weekly eNewsletter, Servant to Servant. The Bible's promise is true: "If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us" (1 John 5:14). Please email  Holly Scheer  with your prayer requests.

The District daily prayers for March are now available on our website. Please join us in prayer.
