Operation Barnabas Workshop in Michigan

LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces Program Operation Barnabas and the Michigan District are hosting a training workshop to assist local congregations in their care and support of local veterans and military members and their families. If you would like to attend this free workshop, click here for more information.
LCMS President Election Voter Registration
Each congregation and parish has already received an  LCMS President Election Voter Registration  form with which to register a pastoral and a lay voter for each congregation or parish.

Attendance at the District Convention is no longer required for a pastor or layperson to serve as an LCMS President Election Voter, since the 2016 Synod Convention eliminated that requirement.

Voter registration forms can only be accepted by the Office of the Synod Secretary until Sunday,  March 24, 2019

If your congregation has lost its registration form, please contact the Office of the Synod Secretary    or phone 314-996-1417 as soon as possible to obtain a replacement form.
Prayer Requests
There is power in prayer. Your prayer concerns are important to the English District. When you submit a prayer request, it will be posted in our weekly eNewsletter, Servant to Servant. The Bible's promise is true: "If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us" (1 John 5:14). Please email  Holly Scheer  with your prayer requests.

The District daily prayers for March are now available on our website. Please join us in prayer.

Working Together!
On Sunday, February 24th, members of Ascension in North Olmsted, OH joined with the youth group and a group of adults from Prince of Peace in Medina, OH to rearrange and reorganize several spaces in Ascension's building so that they can be used effectively. Ascension's pastor, Rev. Joshua Ulm, is a former member of the Prince of Peace youth group. Prince of Peace's hardworking team worked with the members of Ascension to make quick work of three rooms: moving furniture, reorganizing, rearranging, and painting.
DCE Jim Bretthauer and English District Board of Directors member Terry Leu graciously shared the labor of their youth, while teaching them about servant leadership. It was a joy for two district congregations to work together for the kingdom!

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Mesquite, NV

The Women of Life at Prince of Peace recently began a new mission project, “Our Farmyard Mission.” The women’s group donated money to purchase farmyard animals through Lutheran World Relief. The entire congregation has been offered the opportunity to buy more animals, hoping to be able to supply an entire farmyard, or more, for those in need.
