"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7
A peace which likely meets our understanding comes from what this world has to offer: good times of rest, relaxation, and recreational enjoyment. The apostle Paul speaks beyond this world when he talks about the peace of God. Such peace can only come from the one Source—Jesus—who offers us Himself, found only in His Word and Sacraments, from which forgiveness and eternal life result.
Our Mission 1-1-1 dollars help provide the only sure place where some will find and receive these gifts and this Truth. We have entered the 4th quarter of our 2025-26 campaign. Let’s finish strong with our understanding that He is the only peace that surpasses human understanding.
As Jesus said, as recorded in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.”

All the information your congregation needs to get started in contributing to the Mission 1-1-1 ministry can be found on the district website. It is the goal of this campaign to saturate our efforts with Scripture, through where the Holy Spirit moves us.

We lift in prayer the family of Brett Scrogham. Brett was gathered from this life and granted eternal rest around the altar and throne of the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. He rests from his labors and awaits the Resurrection and a glorious reunion to come. A GoFundMe has been established in his honor.

| | English District Endowment Fund | | | The English District Endowment Fund is to provide God’s People with a unique opportunity to participate in a perpetual fund which assists congregations in supporting ministries and missions such as Campus Ministries, Human Care & Disaster Relief, and New Missions. There are earnings available for grants. Please visit the website for more information. | | 2026-2027 Mission Grant Applications | | | |
The 2026-2027 Mission Grant Application form will be available on our website beginning Monday, June 15, 2026. All applications will be due by Sunday, July 19, 2026.
| | Church Worker (Student Loan) Debt Reduction Grants Available | | | |
Rostered workers who are currently serving (called workers) in an English District LCMS congregation or school are eligible to apply for an education indebtedness grant. These grants are one aspect of the Endowment Fund currently being offered to Rostered Church Workers to assist with paying off their student loans.
For a Church Worker (Student Loan) Debt Reduction Grant, we ask that you complete an Application for Church Worker Transitional Assistance. These forms will be available on our District website. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Pastor Mark Wood and members of Shepherd of the Canyon Lutheran Church, recently celebrated their first infant Baptism. Little Myla is now living the baptized life in Christ as the newest member of the congregation.

Faith, Overgaard, AZ
Pastor Rodney Schmeltz and members of Faith Lutheran Church recently participated in the local community Resource Network Day. The purpose of the Resource Network is to "connect those in need with those who care."
The congregation agrees that they never want to be a "best-kept secret," and this type of outreach allows them to share their faith and become known in the community.

The 2026 Synod convention theme, “Christ Is Risen Indeed,” proclaims Christ risen from the dead for the salvation of all. Beginning with the convention, and for the next three years, the LCMS National Offering — under the theme, “Christ Is Risen! Tell the Next Generation” — will help fund ongoing domestic work carried out at the local level by LCMS congregations, districts and Recognized Service Organizations (RSOs). This work will be supported by LCMS Family Ministry, Youth Ministry, Campus Ministry and School Ministry.
All funds raised will be granted to LCMS congregations, districts, and RSOs for support of efforts to tell the next generation. Learn more here.
