Celebrating 30 Years in Ministry

The Church of Saint Mark Lutheran in Mississauga, ON, recently celebrated Rev. Jeff Miskus’s 30 years in ministry during their annual outdoor service. The congregation noted the blessing Pastor Miskus has been in his dedicated service to the Lord and how he has inspired and shaped their spiritual journey since being called to St. Mark's in 2000.

St. Mark’s outdoor service is a cherished tradition which the congregation holds dear as they worship our Lord in nature and reflect upon the beauty He has created. Worship included music and singing by the congregation’s musical group Joyful Noise.

We congratulate Pastor Miskus for 30 years of faithful ministry. We pray for God’s continued blessings upon him and his wife Sylvia. To God be the glory for the great things He has done!

The members of Faith Lutheran Church and Iglesia Luterana Santa Trinidad ministry of Tucson, AZ, celebrated Pastor Nick Wirtz's 30th anniversary of his ordination.

We give thanks for Pastor Wirtz’s ministry and wish him many more years in service to the Lord.

Celebrating 20 Years in Ministry

Congratulations to Pastor Luke Zimmerman, ordained 20 years ago as an LCMS pastor and currently serving Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA. The congregation celebrated with a potluck picnic followed by a get-together at the local American Legion. Pastor Zimmerman was presented with two Ad Crucem plaques to commemorate the occasion, along with a video tribute of well wishes and blessings. Among the celebrants were retired Pastor Tom and Mrs. Marsha Zimmerman, Pastor Zimmerman's parents.

We give thanks to God for Pastor Zimmerman and for his demonstrated love for the Lord.

The Lumen Christi Award is presented to publicly recognize the service of educators, to further promote and encourage all professional and volunteer leaders/teachers who are active members of an English District LCMS congregation. Congratulations and God’s abundant blessings on Janet for her commitment to ministry and mission.

In Our Churches

Risen Savior, Green Valley, AZ

The saints at Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior celebrated the Confirmation and First Communion of Joshua and Joseph. We join the congregation in congratulating these young men and pray that our Risen Savior will continue to guide them in their faith.

First, El Cajon, CA

First Lutheran Church shared the message of God's love with 35 children during their recent Vacation Bible School! This year, the congregation developed their own VBS material with the theme God’s Own Child: Uncovering the Treasures of Baptism. Participants learned how God defeats the forces of sin, death, and the devil through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ and how He delivers those benefits to us through baptism. We pray for the VBS participants and leaders that God will continue to be evident in their lives.

Ascension, Atlanta, GA

Lutherans who worship (and run!) together, stay together! Several members of Lutheran Church of the Ascension participated in Atlanta's annual Peachtree Road Race.
