Rev. Ray Hulett was recently installed to serve at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ferndale, CA. Rev. Dr. Michael Morehouse, 1st Vice President - Western Region, (Catalina Lutheran Church, Tucson, AZ), presided over the installation. Northwest Circuit Visitor Rev. Kevin Belter (Messiah Lutheran Church, Danville, CA) also participated in the installation.
After the service, the congregation celebrated Rev. Hulett, his wife, Aubrey, and their children Arthur, Ruth, Albert, and Regina, with a reception that included great food and fellowship. Even the weather cooperated!
Elder Jim Ross is pictured with Rev. Hulett after both signed the official Diploma of Vocation.

The Rev. Matthew J. Montgomery (Indiana District) has accepted the Divine Call to serve as Sole Pastor of St. Mark, Janesville, WI.

Mr. Waldemar (Wally) C. Heuer
March 20, 1936 to November 27, 2024
Mr. Waldemar (Wally) C. Heuer (Commissioned Minister-Emeritus) was called to glory on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Mr. Heuer served as a Lay Minister at Hales Corners Lutheran Church for 38 years.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42
The “they” in this reading refers to the fellowship of new believers who had heard Peter’s and the other apostles’ message in their own language at the event of Pentecost. What resulted, as we know, is the birth and expansion of the Christian church. As we can see, their practice contained all of the essentials: Word, Sacrament, fellowship, and prayer. Nothing was more important, and nothing was left out. This was the fulfillment of the command of Jesus for the world before he ascended. All of this should sound familiar to us, as we contemplate the English District mission of “Living the Baptized life in Christ.”
Our Mission 1-1-1 dollars have only this express purpose in mind. When our current campaign ends on August 31, 2026, through the baptismal power of the Spirit we will begin anew for September 1, 2026-August 31, 2027. Currently, through June 30, 2026, 26 of 156 congregations have given $20,848. In our final month of this campaign, let’s finish strong.
If your church has been participating, please keep our end date in mind as you turn your contribution in to the District office. Also, please consider how you can continue and expand or enhance your current efforts. Thank you! If your church has not been participating, please prayerfully consider what you need to do to begin starting September 1, 2026. All that you need is on the English District website.
Philippians 1:6 reminds us, “being confident of this, that he who began a good work will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Our prayers are with all affected by the recent tornado in the South Wisconsin District. Many have lost their homes. Currently, teams are assessing the situation and waiting on utility companies to remove power lines.

Messiah, Danville, CA
Pastor Kevin Belter and members of Messiah Lutheran Church bid farewell to Vicar Jonah Clausen, his wife Ana, and their California addition, daughter Delilah. A luncheon was held in the family's honor after the service and included a farewell ditty, sung enthusiastically: "Chief of Vicars Though I Be."

Faith, Arlington Heights, IL
Deaconess Jennifer Schmidt and member Jen host Paint Night at Faith Lutheran Church, bringing together Bible study, painting, and fellowship. First-time painters are warmly welcomed, and member Chef Rich Poppert provides themed appetizers for everyone to enjoy. Classes meet on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2–4 p.m. or 6–8 p.m. Everyone 12 and older is welcome to participate in this fun event!

Our Savior, Hartland, MI
The 2026 Body of Christ and the Public Square conference will be held at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church. The conference serves as an educational resource relative to religious liberty. It labors to equip citizens with an accommodationist understanding of Church and State, resulting in civil engagement aimed at living peaceful and quiet lives according to the tenets of faith (1 Tim. 2:2-6).
