"Children adore and respect their Lutheran teachers." ~LCMS President Matt Harrison
Set Apart to Serve (SAS), an initiative of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, is now making its new church work recruitment curriculum available for congregations and Lutheran schools to order. The number of kits available is limited, so order your free kit now.
The curriculum is designed for use in many different contexts, such as Sunday school, grade school classrooms, or Confirmation instruction. It includes materials for early childhood, grades 1–3, grades 4–6, grades 7–8, and high school or adult. The units address what the church is, who our LCMS church workers are, how the church cares for its workers, and how the church creates a culture of church work formation and recruitment.
Watch the short video message from LCMS President Matt Harrison, then be sure to order your free kit today!

The Buffalo circuit of the English District that includes congregations from New York and Pennsylvania has resumed meeting on a monthly basis. The most recent meeting included Trinity Lutheran Church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Pastors Michael Taylor, Travis Schmidt, and David Walsh along with Deaconess Carolyn Lindenmuth, Deaconess Intern Jennifer Schmidt, and Deaconess Margaret Walsh attended. The meeting began with the Order of Matins, followed by a presentation on Luther and the psalms, lunch, and concluded with tours of Trinity and Holy Trinity. We pray for continued success in fellowship and joint discipleship within the Buffalo circuit for His Glory!

Peace, Palm Desert, CA
Pastor James Bowes, pastor at Peace Lutheran Church of the Desert, blessed all children heading back to school with a prayer of protection and God's influence. Following the service was a celebratory meal that included pizza, tamales, cake and more! May God bless and protect all children returning to school! To God be the Glory.

Trinity, Erie, PA
Intern Deaconess Jennifer Schmidt, of Trinity Lutheran Church, spent the afternoon with identical twins Kelly and Carie Thompson. They painted lovely cherry trees and talked about how Jesus is their hope. These sweet ladies deal with pain every day and this is their first summer in wheelchairs. We ask continued blessings on them and on those who serve others with compassion.
