Jesus says, as recorded in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, nor let them be afraid.”
The above passage begs the question: what manner of peace does the world give? Any news from the United Nations meetings this week is about settling wars, or preventing new ones, or recent ones from getting worse. The Weather Channel speaks of wildfires, flash floods, and the impending threat of more storms that damage material goods and personal safety. And if that is not enough, what is the answer the world gives for broken relationships and guilty consciences?
Our world needs something beyond itself; it needs Jesus, as we do. The entire point in supporting any mission effort is to grasp this fact and fill it with Jesus, the living Word, and His presence in His sacraments, in places where the truth and peace of the gospel are not readily found. Mission 1-1-1 does not exist apart from this purpose. If you need more information or content to start or assist in your church’s Mission 1-1-1 campaign, please connect to the District website through the link above.
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

In this space, each week we will continue to provide Scripture and messaging that can be used so that this campaign is saturated in the Word, and surrounded with communication that can be re-purposed into chapel talks, posters, postings, short lessons, and bulletin inserts. The Mission Action Team prays that you will partner with us in this vital Kingdom work.

When we first arrived in Germany, we knew we were stepping into a new chapter. New places, people, language, responsibilities, and rhythm of life. But it didn’t take long to realize that we were not actually beginning something new! We were stepping into something that had already been underway for a long time...

Grace, Redford, MI
The congregation of Grace Lutheran Church was excited to hold its first Christian Education Sunday in over 5 years! A children’s sermon was led by “Miss Bonnie” to over 12 children. In addition, Pastor Tim Halboth presented Bibles to brother and sister Liam and Faye for their faithful Sunday School attendance and service in Sunday worship. We pray for God's continued blessing on this congregation as they raise up the next generation.

Amendment would allow alternate means of calling district conventions
Member congregations of the Synod are being asked to vote by March 15, 2027, on the ratification of an amendment to the Synod’s Constitution, Article XII 15. The amendment would allow alternate means, in cases of urgent necessity, for district conventions to be called by circuit forums or by district vice-presidents and circuit visitors, without the consent of the district president.
Further information, including the proposed amendment, is available here.
