Through the dedication of our Community Involvement Committee and St. Barnabas School staff, we are pleased to launch our Annual Service Day. We ask all students to participate in Service Day on Friday, April 28. ALL students and chaperones must register by March 17.

Questions regarding Service Day may be sent to Mr. Patrick McGowan, Director of Faith Formation, pmcgowan@stbarnabasparish.org.

4 ESSENTIAL STEPS FOR SERVICE DAY

There are four essential steps for parents/guardians to ensure the day is meaningful, smooth, and productive.

STEP 1

REGISTER STUDENTS & CHAPERONES

Monday, March 6 - Friday, March 17

ALL students and chaperones must register by March 17.

PRESCHOOL - GRADE 3: Students in each grade participate in the same service activity. Preschool-Grade 2 students remain on campus; Grade 3 travels off-campus.

GRADE 4 - 8: Students choose an off-campus service opportunity. Select the service activity that best suits the interests of your child. Each service site has a limited number of spots available; sign-up is first-come, first-serve for grades 4-8.

STEP 3

Monday, March 24 - Monday, April 3

On March 24, each student will bring home a Permission Form. Please complete and return the form to your child’s homeroom teacher by Monday, April 3.

We request a $12 contribution per student to subsidize the cost of buses and supplies. Cash or check should be returned to school along with the signed permission form.

STEP 4

SERVE & REFLECT

Friday, April 28

Students and parent/guardian volunteers join for a powerful day in service to others. The day begins at 7:45am; dress in spirit wear or clothing appropriate for the service work.

All parents/guardians are invited to the Church for a Service Day Reflection beginning at 11:15am. Students will dismiss directly from the Church at 11:50am.  Aftercare is not available.
