Dear STVM Family,
Due to the unprecedented circumstances facing us at the moment, for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, our
service hours
are being changed and expanded. One of the changes is the inclusion of
SPIRITUAL GROWTH and FAMILY SERVICE HOURS
. We are still asking you to complete the 25 service hours (many of you have already completed the requirement! Good job!). If you have not completed your hours, you will need to use these new guidelines.
Spiritual growth hours
give you the opportunity to grow in love and charity. They can also help you form NEW prayerful habits and practices!
- Pray the Rosary (alone or with your family)
- Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet
- Stations of the Cross
- Watch a video about a saint
- Read about a saint
- Read the Bible (You can use a Bible App)
- Spend time in reflection by writing in a journal
- Create art that reflects your love of God and His Creation
- Listen to a Catholic podcast
- Read more about the Marianist order (Use the Marianist app)
- Any other spiritual growth/prayerful experience (alone or with family)
Family service hours give you the opportunity to serve your family. Your family needs YOU!
- Help your siblings with online school
- Cook and serve meals to your family
- Clean up around the house---general cleaning/disinfecting
- Large projects--clean closets, attic, and organize the basement or pantry
- Do yard work (Spring is here!)
- Babysit younger siblings (for free)
- Call/FaceTime with relatives...especially grandparents
- Cook a meal and bring to your neighbors
- Take out your neighbors trash
- Send cards/emails to hospital patients, Nursing home residents, and health professionals
- Ask your family members how you can help them!
- PLEASE HELP OTHERS IN ANY WAY THAT YOU CAN!

- You will submit hours the same way you have all year
- Log into your Naviance account
- Click on the x2VOL icon
- Explain your SERVICE in the description box
