Meet Sister Janet Fischer
Southern Cross, the official magazine of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Savannah, shared a spotlight article featuring Sister Janet Fischer and the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in their Dec. 2022 "What is Consecrated Life?" issue (page 8).

"Sister Janet Fischer, the only FSPA in our diocese, joined the order in 1956 and came to our diocese from Wisconsin in 1980. She entered the order aged just 19 after years of what she describes as feeling 'pestered' by God. Over 65 years later, she says that 'it's been the greatest gift that God could have given me, now that I look back on it.'"

Service on the Margins
"I'm trying to be in relationship with the people in the neighborhood; I like being part of that. It is in building relationships that we build trust," shares Sister Kristin Peters when discussing her involvement in the Above and Beyond Family Recovery Center and Food Pantry located in Chicago, IL.

Hospitality and Presence
In November, Sister Meg Earsley was featured in Engaging Franciscan Wisdom Podcast's 48th episode titled "Hospitality & Presence: teachers of beauty & living in unity." In this episode, Sister Meg "shares the delight of discovery through cultural immersion in intentional communities, both in the unexpected joy of religious life and in her immersion with the incredible people of Bolivia."

"I was in adoration in a little church in Fairfield, IA, which is where I was living, when I felt this spark that essentially said 'you should become a sister,'" explains Sister Meg when talking about her 'calling.' "And for me, that was a really interesting spark because I didn't know any sisters."
