Letter from the Assistant Director
Dear East Providence Library Community,
Happy 2025! I hope the year has started off well for all of you. I’m excited to share that, in 2025, Weaver Library will undergo an interior redesign that will include new seating for patrons and new service desks to enhance the staff’s ability to provide the best customer service to our wonderful patrons. If you have visited Weaver Library in the past few weeks, you probably noticed that some of our adult bookshelves have been relocated, and that staff has been tirelessly working to shift and reshelve the collection of over 36,000(!) books. The result of this project will be an increase in our well-used quiet study area. Our patrons have been asking for this for awhile, and we are so happy to be able to make it a reality this year. Stay tuned for future updates about the redesign.
I am also happy to announce that, starting today, our newsletter will be transitioning from a weekly format to a monthly delivery schedule, allowing us to bring you updates for a whole month at the end of the previous month. We hope this will help you to better plan your schedule to attend as many of our programs as you can, and to make the best use of the library in general.
I hope to see you at the library!
Pam Schwieger
