Clean water for God's thirsty children

WWB Advocates:
Serving Others by Spreading Our Message
|
Our Advocates spread a message of love and hope, telling others of a mother's joy at giving her child a first sip of clean water.
|
|
Even the worst situations can bring about something good. Our weekly
Coffee Chat
, created as a way to support one another during the lockdown, reminds us that
“We’re all in this together”
is not a cliché.
Building on our shared commitment to bring clean water to God’s thirsty children, we have laughed and wept, prayed and complained. And through it all, we have lived the words of Scripture:
See how they love one another.
So while we will continue hosting the Friday morning
Coffee Chat
, our creative team has come up with a great new idea:
We can help you host
your own Coffee Chat.
You can join our other WWB Advocates and help us spread the good news about Water With Blessings to your friends and loved ones.
We will host your Coffee Chat and provide technical support on our secure platform. We will also show you how to navigate the website and use it to tell others about the work of
Water With Blessings
.
Also, we would be happy to pass along information sheets and talking points so you can be up-to-date on our efforts.
The pandemic is the worst-case scenario, obviously, but there are always a lot of lonely people out there. This could be an opportunity to reach out to those who live by themselves, or are cut off from others due to illness or distance – truly a work of mercy, as Jesus asked us to perform.
Let’s stay in this together, whatever the future will bring.

Providing a Voice for Those Hidden on our Margins
|
At
Water With Blessings
, we are able to train and equip a new
Water Woman
with everything she needs to supply clean water to her own and 3 other families, for the cost of only $75. That includes the simply-constructed Sawyer PointONE filter that will last their lifetimes. How can we do it so inexpensively?
The reason is our wide network of volunteers. But they aren't just volunteers. We call them our Advocates. They might not receive medals, but they always go above and beyond what we ask. Our team of Advocates helps us spread the good news of
Water With Blessings
. They host events, speak on our behalf, and explain how people can change lives through Water With Blessings.

The Power of One:
Providing The Gift of Life
What is the potential contained in one little child? What will that one be able to do with her life? Will the others growing up around her have the opportunity to fulfill their potentials? And if they are able to grow and learn and work, how many other lives will benefit?
It comes down to one of our most important beliefs:
the Power of One
.
One gift of $75 to
Water With Blessings
will equip a
Water Woman
with a bucket and a Sawyer PointONE filter, and provide the training needed for her to provide clean water to her own and 3 other families. It's just that simple.
If you are receiving these emails, you are already doing this, so we ask you to help us in a different way: please spread the news.
Please consider forwarding this email to someone you think may want to join the growing Water With Blessings Family.

Join us for a special drive-thru event to support our work in the Philippines...
and
support orphans there!
|
Today we’re all
'driving-thru'
– for coffee, for lunch; heck, even for our groceries.
Filipinos know all about drive-thrus to drop off their "balikbayan boxes" for special shipping of gifts to family in the Philippines.
We're partnering with My BalikBayan LLC to raise awareness for our work in the Philippines, especially with the Franciscan Oikos Sisters.
We've known and loved these wonderful Filipino nuns for years, as they were our first partners in the Philippines. Recently we've been approached by this balikbayan box company with a history of helping orphans by shipping contributions. When they told us they were looking for a trustworthy orphanage, we knew just who that would be!
Water filters, Christmas gifts for orphans, boxes to family back home... it's all coming together on Saturday, August 15, 1-5 pm at 103 N. Madison Ave., 40243. (And again on September 27!)
BalikBayan LLC will be collecting for orphans...and you certainly don't have to be Filipino to help out! This collection will focus on school supplies, flip-flops, t-shirts, cotton shorts, or sundresses. Children's vitamins and OTC meds will also be hugely appreciated.

WWB will be raising funds to send more filters to the sisters for the village they're building for homeless families. We'll have wonderful masks for sale, created by our great friend Barbara Oesteritter (like we said, if you have to wear one, it might as well be beautiful). Charlotte Ford’s great craft work will also be available for purchase, to support her project of sending handmade dolls to the children in time for Christmas.
We’ll also have our regular soap and coffee for sale.
Please spread the word, and come out to see our first balikbayan drive thru event!

This week for Coffee Chat: Spotlight on
WWB Advocates!
|
Please join us this Friday, back at our usual time of 9am eastern, as we welcome Tom Speaker and Gerry Hope, two of our most active Advocates who will be sharing their experience of speaking up for God's thirsty children.
So grab your morning brew and pull up a chair. You'll be glad you did.
We'll also be talking about the opportunity to host your own Coffee Chat. It's a great way of connecting with those who are stuck inside or live by themselves, and at the same time help us provide clean water for God's thirsty children.
