Shoma Nahar, LaGuardia ’21, knows the sheer force of will. She earned both her high school equivalency and associate degree from LaGuardia while she was learning English, raising three children with physical disabilities and coping with domestic abuse. A Bangladeshi immigrant who served in student government, she plans to work with other abuse survivors after she earns her bachelor's degree in social work.
