RISE RECOVERY VETERANS SUPPORT GROUP
Welcome: Armando Sanchez, MSW, Veteran Peer Support Specialist
We are humbled and delighted to announce the Rise Recovery Veterans Group, which will support military veterans who are struggling with the effects of substance use. We are also happy to announce our newest staff member, Armando Sanchez, MSW, who will lead this much needed San Antonio community recovery support program. As an Army veteran who served combat duty in Iraq, Armando understands the effects of war along with the struggles with mental health and substance use. Armando turned those struggles into an asset when he decided to stay sober over eight years ago and serve fellow veterans who are also struggling. If you or someone you know would like more information about this group, please contact Armando at 210-227-2634, ext. 162 or email him at [email protected]. Read Armando's full bio here.

HAPPY 32 YEARS, FRANK JANOUSEK!
Surrender to the process.
Continue looking as if you don't know anything.
Surround yourself with people who are in the same process as you, your friends can help shape you.
Make yourself available to others in recovery, give wherever you can and often, get out of yourself and God will provide the answer you seek within your self.

These are just a few words of wisdom Frank has shared to those in a state of hopelessness in their struggles with substances to a life full of love, hope and healing. He has worked the program for 32 years and is a shining example of the 12 Steps: honesty, hope, surrender, courage, integrity, willingness, humility, love, responsibility, discipline, awareness, and service. We are honored and blessed to have Frank in the Rise Recovery family. We love you! READ FRANK'S BIO HERE
Kimberly's Story: A Father, A Daughter and A Son
Substance use disorder affects the entire family, often multiple generations, like Kimberly's, but she was determined to stop the cycle. We are thankful to United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County for this feature story and continued support and partnership with Rise Recovery.
