Serving the Church, Strengthening the Saints

Greetings Ministry Partners,



In May, I met with the pastor of Main Street Baptist Church to discuss the possibility of launching a Bible Training Institute to serve East Tennessee and the surrounding Appalachian region. We will continue these conversations, and he plans to facilitate a meeting with other pastors in the area.

I also traveled to Florida to participate in the ordination of Keith Arnold, our Area Coordinator for Northern Mexico. Keith began the month in Florida, tying up loose ends following the passing of his father and preparing for his ordination on the 17th. After successfully completing the ordination process and preaching at his home church on the 18th, Keith was officially ordained. He has since returned to Mexico, where he experienced some medical issues during the trip. These required follow-up treatment for inflammation, but he has recovered and is now resuming his ministry work.

Haiti & The Dominican Republic

Gang activity in Haiti, which was previously concentrated around Port-au-Prince, has become more widespread. Harry Jean Pierre's neighborhood has recently seen a sharp rise in gang-related violence, prompting many of his neighbors to flee their homes in search of safety. He is actively seeking a safer location to relocate, but suitable options are proving challenging.

Staff Update:

• Pastor Jean Calixte is currently living in Connecticut and working in New York, was recently informed that his visa status has been revoked. He has submitted documentation requesting a waiver to remain in the U.S., but as of now, he is at risk of deportation. In his absence, he has entrusted Pastor Thomas to help oversee the books and ministry in Haiti.
• Pastor Clautaire Dorestant traveled to Nippes to visit with Pastor Desrosiers, share the ministry, and promote starting CCI classes in that key city in that department.
• Pastor Maxene Mecien traveled to Trou de Nord on May 2-3 to conduct an orientation with Pastor Auguste and his 13 staff members. He then returned to Port de Paix on May 22-25 to conduct an orientation with Pastor Elise Alfred.   

Mexico

Keith Arnold, the Area Coordinator, was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel on May 18 at Suncoast Baptist Church in New Port Richey, Florida. He also preached a message to the church on that day. He returned to Mexico on the 20th and is back to work in Sonora, promoting CCI and teaching four classes.  

Saul Valdez, a trusted associate in Mexico, has been managing the ministry in Keith’s absence and started a new class in Mexico with eight students while Keith was away.
