From the Desk of
Senator  Ed Harbison

Greetings from your state Capitol!
Last week was eventful as we gathered for the ninth week of our 2019 legislative session. Following the hectic pace of Crossover week, we began reviewing all House bills, now in the Senate for consideration. For the remainder of session, all Senate bills passing the House; House bills passing the Senate, will make their way to Governor Kemp for his final review and signature into law.

Last week saw the passage of six bills on the Senate floor. Of the bills passing, one was the annual state properties conveyances bill, which I carry as the Chairman of the State Institutions and Properties Committee. While most of our work centered around our respective committee hearings, much of last week carried discussion and debate around House Bill 316, which is an attempt to further secure our elections process. I have discussed my views on this particular bill in my full update below.

Last week, I also had the honor of welcoming some newly inducted members of the Georgia Veterans Hall of Fame to the Senate. Additionally, I was able to bring my fellow Senate Veterans to the well to thank them for their service. It's wonderful to have so many military veterans in our body and I am proud to support any and all efforts aimed at assisting our veteran community.

This week, we begin our final stretch of the 2019 session. As always, I will continue to update you on issues of importance. If you need anything at all, don't hesitate to contact me at anytime. Thank you for the great honor of allowing me to serve as your voice under the Gold Dome! Be blessed my friends...
