35th Annual MLK Holiday Tribute
On Friday, Janaury 17, 2020, The Department of Community Affairs along with the state Martin Luther King, Jr. Advisory Council hosted the 35th Annual Holiday Tribute to Goergia's native son, TheRev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As the chairman of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Advisory Council and your state Senator, I am proud of the work we are doing. E vents like this reinvigorate the still pertinent values that Dr. King represented: equality, inclusivity and nonviolence. As legislators and as Georgians, we can use this national holiday as a reminder of the ideals we are constantly striving towards

The speaker for the program was the Consul General of Canada, Nadia Theodore.

MLK Commermorative Service at Ebenezer Baptist Church
On Monday, January 20, 2020, I had the pleasure to attend the Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Commemorative Service as the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church.

I was inspired by my friend and the daughter of the Rev.Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Dr Bernice King who delivered the charge to all of humanity, with her message on the “Fierce Urgency of Now!!"
