SB 1030, the much-anticipated “Education Blueprint” legislation to provide initial funding for new education priorities, is on its way toward passage. Senate amendments fueled its near-unanimous support there, further House amendments expanded accountability measures, and a final compromise appears imminent. A teacher salary incentive remains in the bill, new accountability measures have been amended in, and multiple funding sources have been “fenced off” to support the down payment toward a decade-long plan expected next session.
