Meet the Fashion Week Downtown Naming Sponsor, Settlement Engine
Why SETTLEMENT ENGINE?
This is why clients/realtors/lenders choose to do business with us.
I was instantly impressed with their knowledge and responsiveness. In business, I always try to follow three adages that are simple, but many do poorly; show up, communicate, and keep you word. Settlement Engine did all three exceptionally I have trusted them with all my investment purchase and the purchase of my own home.
-Bryan J. McCann, Advisor, SVN | Three Rivers Commercial Advisors
In my 20 years in the mortgage industry the process and procedures in getting a mortgage approved and successfully closed are unbelievably complicated. Settlement Engine "makes it easy"-as a Lender and their customer-it's one less, major thing I need to worry about and allows me to pay more attention to my borrowers/clients
.
-Daniel Keller, Assistant VP, Loan Officer, Huntington National Bank.
The quality of work along with back office support is undeniably the best in the industry I've been a part of during my 16 years career.
-Haris Agovic, Sr. Loan Officer, MB Financial Bank, N.A.
I use Settlement Engine for my client's title and closing needs mainly because the service is flawless and always completed without delay. Accuracy is most important and Settlement Engine delivers every time.
-Dian Colletti, COLDWELL BANKER REAL ESTATE SERVICES
What sets SETTLEMENT ENGINE apart from other title companies?
All my questions or concerns are answered and handled in timely fashion. I wish every other title company could learn from the business ethics Settlement Engine provides.
-Haris Agovic, Sr. Loan Officer, MB Financial Bank, N.A.
Settlement Engine has also provided difficult to locate documents, deeds, and private road maintenance agreements when needed. The process has always been smooth and the staff is great to work with. They are proactive on each file and do not charge excessive fees.
-Dian Colletti, COLDWELL BANKER REAL ESTATE SERVICES
SE communicates as well as any company I have seen. They are able to explain the title process and their role in to first time buyers, as well as provide guidance on more sophisticated transactions such as investment property and 1031 exchanges. Phone calls and emails are answered promptly and with a high level of expertise. Most of the time they have the answer at their fingertips, and if they do not, they make it their own mission to help the client.
-Bryan J. McCann, Advisor, SVN | Three Rivers Commercial Advisors
They are responsive and easy to deal with. They have closing agents that will close anywhere.
-Dan Poirier, VP, Corporate Banker, Commercial Solutions Unit, First Commonwealth Bank
Everyone is involved in every file so we don't get request to send the same documents multiple times.
-Aida Agovic-Corna, Associate Broker, Chairman's Circle, BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY HOME SERVICES
If I need them to do so, Settlement Engine will close a transaction in the evening or on Saturdays-I don't often ask them to do that, but when called upon they respond with that "extra mile" type effort.
-Daniel Keller, Assistant VP, Loan Officer, Huntington National Bank.
What feedback do you get from your clients when you recommend SETTLEMENT ENGINE?
My clients who started using Settlement Engine use them for all of their additional title needs.
-Dan Poirier, VP, Corporate Banker, Commercial Solutions Unit, First Commonwealth Bank
I attend most of my closings so I see first-hand my borrowers are thrilled with their level of service and professionalism-especially with first-time home buyers, they take the needed time and "TLC" that assures their comfort and ease!
-Daniel Keller, Assistant VP, Loan Officer, Huntington National
Bank
My clients look to me for direction in the closing and title process. I want them to be completely happy with my service and their experiences with my service partners contributes to their overall satisfaction. For this reason I can always expect positive feedback from buyer clients making the largest and most emotionally charged purchase of their lifetime. While a closing is routine for those in our business it is a very special day for a buyer to close on a new home and Settlement Engine never disappoints.
-Dian Colletti, COLDWELL BANKER REAL ESTATE SERVICES
As a commercial real estate agent, I specialize in investment sales. I often work with out of town sellers and buyers, my clients have always commented on how easy it is to work with SE in person and remotely. From getting out a Power of Attorney, to doing remote closings, to handling property requirements (such as dye testing), SE works with all parties involved to ensure nothing is missed and closing goes as smooth as possible.

Beyond Sports and Steel: Wigle Whiskey Gives Pittsburgh More to be Proud of
As Pittsburghers, we're known for a number of quirky things. The city's distinct background and history sets us apart as we wear black and gold for our team, put coleslaw and fries on our Primanti sammiches, refer to large groups as "yinz," and boast of our beautiful steel bridges. Most people know Pittsburgh for its once booming steel industry that took place over a century ago, but not many know that it was also once the whiskey distilling capital of the country.
Wigle Whiskey, a family-owned local distillery that opened in 2012, inevitably shares Pittsburgh's whiskey legacy by its very name. Phillip Wigle was one of the many pioneering PA distillers of the 1700s. He brawled with a tax collector to preserve his right to distill. Over two centuries later, the aftermath gave Wigle a catchy name to represent Phillip and his involvement in the Whiskey Rebellion.
While Wigle promotes western PA's whiskey history, the standards and goals it sets for itself makes for a bright future. Being that it is the only whiskey distillery in the region and was the first established in Pittsburgh since Prohibition, its growth carries great momentum. "We are so proud that we are able to host events, give people access to our whiskey at our multiple locations," said Meagan Gemperlein, the company's director of partnerships and events. As a distillery that creates and sells its own spirits from locally and organically grown grains, Wigle has gained tremendous popularity among Pittsburghers. Wigle is "committed to being a positive part of Pittsburgh's fabric-making spirits much the same way Phillip Wigle and his friends did with a copper pots and local ingredients," according to its website.
As a consumer, or what Wigle calls its "taste-pioneers," you will learn the captivating story of Phillip Wigle and how the yinzers of the 18th century made a living by distilling. Sign up on their website for a Saturday tour and you will learn all about it while sampling its award-winning, full-flavored whiskeys, gins, rums, and vodka. Reserve your spot today for either a private or public tour. If you're attending Settlement Engine's Fashion Week Downtown, be sure to stop by and say hi to Wigle's friendly staff selling cocktails and bottles!

PSO Serves and Inspires the Pittsburgh Community with Music
In case you haven't heard, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is an American orchestra based in Pittsburgh's Cultural District. The orchestra's home is Heinz Hall, a performing arts center that presents about 200 performances each year.
PSO strives to serve the Pittsburgh community in many ways. Other than performing excellent music to give its audience stellar experiences, it also has a Learning & Community Engagement initiative. It actively seeks to engage people in experiences to create informed, enduring, and evolving connections to music by serving families and schools. For example, because of this initiative, "more than 3,700 Pre K-12 students attended programs featuring Pittsburgh Symphony musicians at their schools," according to their NGO Impact template.
The template displays a variety of events PSO was involved in. It features quotes from people who were influenced by the initiative, and a variety of heartwarming pictures and clips of inspired children.
PSO has been around since the late 1800s and has a long, resilient history. Their roots speak to much of what they do today as a service to the community as well as a magnificent orchestra.
The soonest event PSO will be holding is this Saturday. It's only Tuesday, so there's still time to make these exciting weekend plans. On September 16 at 5:30 p.m., attend the one-night only black tie event to see the featured pianist, Lang Lang, who the New York Times endorses as the "hottest artist on the classical music planet."
Their collaboration and unique twists will captivate you. Together they will be performing George Gershwin's 1924 iconic jazz-concerto, Rhapsody in Blue. The music integrates elements of classical music with jazz-influenced effects, which appeals to a diversity of age groups. After the performance, enjoy a seated dinner throughout Heinz Hall catered by Duquesne Club. Of course, a dessert reception will be included with Maestro Honeck.
These events tends to sell out fast, so make your reservations early as possible here.
