Seven Dogs. Seven Hearts. One Chance to Change Everything. β€οΈ
Some dogs find their forever families in days. Others wait months, wondering when their turn will come.
Meet Baby Girl, Twinkle, Marilynn, Kira, Connor, Baxter, and Venus β seven incredible dogs with seven very different personalities, but one thing in common.
They're still waiting for someone to choose them.
From a sprinkler-loving goofball to a senior who refuses to slow down, these dogs have so much love, laughter, and companionship to offer.
We've given each of them their own spotlight, and we're hoping their stories reach the people they've been waiting for.
Eight years ago, Lina began volunteering to help shelter dogs. She had no idea just how much those dogs would change her life.
Her first freedom ride with Labradors and Friends was with two very special passengers, Coco and Liberty. But it was her second, with a beautiful dog named Midnight who had suffered terribly, that left an unforgettable impression.
"That freedom ride changed something in me,"Lina recalls.
Since then, Lina has spent eight years helping dogs find their way to safety β assessing shelter dogs, coordinating transports, assisting with adoptions, and working behind the scenes to make freedom rides possible.
Today, she continues that mission as one of our dedicated Riverside shelter pullers, helping dogs who might otherwise be overlooked.
Through the heartbreak, the happy endings, and the countless lives changed, Lina has learned something that captures the heart of rescue:

"Every person plays an important role, and every effort matters."
Those eyes. Those little teeth. And THAT tongue! β€οΈ
Meet Dratini, one of our newest Labradors and Friends rescues, and quite possibly one of the cutest little characters you'll ever meet!
At just over a year old and approximately 33 pounds, this adorable Lab/Pug mix is the whole package. She LOVES kids, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and is already house-trained!
After leaving the San Bernardino shelter behind, Dratini has been enjoying the comforts of a home, and judging by her pictures, she's settling into the good life just fine!
Sweet, affectionate, and absolutely irresistible, Dratini is ready to bring a whole lot of love (and that unforgettable smile!) to a lucky family.
Love & May β Two Little Lives, One Big Second Chance β€οΈ
At just five months old, Love and May were already running out of time.
These two precious girls were at the Hesperia shelter, scheduled to be euthanized, when Labradors and Friends stepped in on the very day their lives were at risk.
Instead of losing their lives, Love and May got a second chance.
Weighing approximately 30 pounds each, these adorable puppies are as sweet as they come! They're wonderful with everyone, including other dogs, and have their whole lives ahead of them.
With their beautiful black coats, expressive eyes, and those irresistible puppy ears, it's hard to imagine how these two little girls nearly lost their chance at growing up.
Today, they're safe, loved, and looking forward to the next chapter of their lives β finding families of their very own.

Meet Blaine β Zoomies, Snuggles & Everything in Between! β€οΈ
One year old, ridiculously adorable, and absolutely full of personality β meet Blaine!
This charming little Pug mix is currently enjoying life in a foster home, where he's proving that great things really do come in small packages!
Blaine is smart, playful, and loves absolutely everyone. He's wonderful with dogs big and small, knows sit, off, and leave it, and is already house-trained!
He's also a toy enthusiast with a serious case of the zoomies! But once playtime is over, this little guy transforms into a professional cuddler.
And did we mention he sleeps through the night in his crate and happily entertains himself with his toys?
A little mischief, a lot of love, and endless entertainment β that's Blaine! β€οΈ
Could this lovable little character be your new best friend?

π YOU ASKED FOR MORE TIME β YOU GOT IT!
Our Pampered Chef fundraiser was scheduled to wrap up this week, but there's good news for anyone who hasn't had a chance to shop yet:
The party has been extended through October 31st! π
That means more time to browse, find fall kitchen favoritesβand help our rescue dogs at the same time.
A portion of proceeds from purchases made through our fundraiser goes back to Labradors and Friends, helping us keep saying yes when dogs need us.
And after the week we've had, we can tell you those yeses matter. β€οΈ
More time to shop. More opportunities to help. More dogs getting their second chance.
Every Dog Has a Story. Every Volunteer Makes a Difference. β€οΈ
Some stories begin with a dog who has been waiting far too long.
Others begin with a volunteer who decides to show up, never imagining how many lives that simple decision will change.
This week, we introduced you to seven incredible dogs β Baby Girl, Twinkle, Marilynn, Kira, Connor, Baxter, and Venus. Seven different personalities, seven hearts still hoping someone will choose them.
We celebrated Lina's eight years of dedication, reminding us that rescue isn't just about one
moment. It's about showing up, year after year, for dogs who have nowhere else to turn.
We introduced Dratini, Love, May, and Blaine, each with a story of their own and a future still waiting to be written.
And at Silverado Days, our volunteers braved the heat, our dogs made new friends, and Oliver even took home a Participation Award! π
Different stories. Different journeys. One shared purpose.
To make sure no dog is forgotten.
Not the ones who have been waiting for months.
Not the ones who need a little extra patience.
Not the ones who are overlooked simply because someone hasn't taken the time to see how special they are.
Every foster home, every volunteer, every adoption, and every person who shares a dog's story helps keep that promise alive.
Because being rescued is only the beginning. Being loved for a lifetime is the goal. β€οΈ
Because friends don't let friends go homeless. π
Baby Girl, Twinkle, Marilynn, Kira, Connor, Baxter, and Venus have waited long enough. Sometimes all it takes is one share to reach the person they've been waiting for.
π‘ Consider opening your home to a foster dog.
Every foster home creates another opportunity to save a life. You don't have to commit forever to make a difference that lasts forever.
β€οΈ Celebrate the volunteers who make rescue possible.
Lina has spent eight years showing up for dogs who need her. Her story is a reminder that one person, giving a little of their time, can change countless lives.
π£ Help us spread the word about Labradors and Friends.
Share an adoptable dog, invite someone to an event, or introduce a friend to the joy of volunteering. Every connection matters.
You may not be the person who adopts a waiting dog. But you could be the reason their forever family finds them. β€οΈ

Until next Sunday...
With gratitude,
