Happy Third Sunday in the season of Lent. Inspired by the children of Israel wandering in the wilderness for 40 years and Jesus fasting in the wilderness for 40 days, Lent is a 40 plus day journey into the dry desert of our lives so that we can discover living waters for our souls. As of this Sunday, we are a little under 20 days into that journey, and everyone is invited to join no matter when they start. The theme for this year's Lenten season is "The 7 last words of Jesus." These 7 words were the 7 last sayings of Jesus as he hung on the cross. Last Sunday we explored the 2nd word “Today you will be with me in Paradise.” On this first Sunday in women’s history month, we examine the 3rd word, “Woman, behold thy son; Son, behold thy mother.”   

There is a fountain filled with love drawn from Christ's holy side and we are invited to plunge beneath that flow and lose all our greed, anger, envy, and pride. Come to that fountain. Come and listen to Christ's 3rd “last word”. Come and taste rivers living waters being poured out on the cross. Come let us worship.

The holidays are tough for a lot of people, but Desert Mission Food Banks helps ease some of the burdens families face during the holidays.

We collect nonperishable goods every Sunday in the grocery cart found in the lobby. All donations go to Desert Mission Food Bank.
