A Message from Merced County Superintendent of Schools
Friday, January 13, 2023
Good afternoon MCOE,

I wanted to take a moment to address the recent flooding that has affected many communities around Merced County, and ask that you all remain on high alert this weekend as dangerous weather conditions are expected to continue.

The City of Merced issued warnings of heavy rain, flooding and possible evacuation to areas of Merced. You can view a map of these areas in the newsletter.

Below you will also find information about the SISC Employment Assistance Program for employees affected by recent flooding.

If you would like to help communities severely impacted by the flooding, Le Grand Union High School is collecting supplies for families in need. Learn more about how you can help.
Also find links to upcoming professional developments for office professionals and arts educators, hiring events for diverse community members and free COVID-19 testing in this newsletter.

In this Newsletter:

  • Le Grand Flood Donations
  • Merced Flood Warnings
  • Poetry Out Loud
  • Office Professionals Conference

Weekend Weather Alert
Merced Flood Warnings
As rain continues to fall this weekend, remember to be vigilant of flooding, especially near already affected areas.

Residents in the mapped areas are advised to prepare for heavy rain, flooding and possible evacuation.

Stay informed about weather conditions and any flood warnings in your area. Keep an emergency kit on hand, including flashlights, batteries, and a portable radio. Have a plan in case of evacuation, and never drive through flooded areas.

Stay safe!
