According to the National Weather Service, multiple weather hazards are expected to impact Saline County beginning late Monday night and continuing through Wednesday morning. A High Wind Watch has been issued for areas along and north of U.S. Highway 50, with severe storms, damaging winds, and potential snowfall in the forecast.

What you need to know:

  • Strong to Severe Storms: Possible late Monday night into Tuesday morning (1 AM – 9 AM). Expect wind gusts of 50-60 mph, dime-to-quarter-sized hail, and the slight possibility of a brief tornado.
  • High Winds: Northwest winds up to 60 mph are expected Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday morning, with the strongest gusts likely northwest of the Kansas Turnpike.
  • Snow Potential: A brief period of moderate to heavy snow may accompany the strong winds Tuesday evening into Tuesday night. Snow accumulation remains uncertain, but visibility reductions could impact travel.
