Dear Shabazz Families,

Welcome to the start of the 2019-20 school year. As Interim Principal of Shabazz City High School, I have met many exceptional students and families and cannot wait to continue. It was so inspiring to see such positive students at our well-attended Registration Day last Wednesday. I can already tell this is going to be a great year.

Our teachers and staff spent the last week coming together in professional development, and learning and inquiring at MMSD's Welcome Back Rally.

We have made some significant shifts trying to ensure our goal of  all students feeling a part of the Shabazz community . We are very excited about students, this year, having the ability to be in grade-level specific advisories. Advisory will be a place for students to receive advising on academic, social/emotional skills, and future-planning.

Please review our daily schedules time s as they might have shifted from last year.

Shabazz is also excited to roll out a proactive process for helping students deal with conflict. This is a work in progress for this year as we want to ensure we get student feedback (voice) within this process. This process will be reviewed with students on the first days of school and through the daily and advisory classes. You can review our process below.

Thank you for continuing to partner with us in making sure your student is learning and growing while at Shabazz and beyond.
