Shalom! As we prepare for a High Holiday like no other, under the leadership of Rabbi Gershon and Cantor Greenberg, these High Holidays will leave lasting memories, warmth and engagement, even though we will be socially distant. Yes, there are great challenges to a virtual service, but all of us will have a part in making this a year to remember. With this in mind, we are going to do some pre-recording and ask for your input and participation at services; but we must start today. I need your input, feedback on 3 important upcoming events and programs, so please review the following and respond accordingly. I want to be assured everyone at B'nai Israel has an opportunity to be part of the services.
1. Every congregant will be receiving a High Holiday Tote Bag sponsored by Certified Dermatology and Drs. Rami and Patty Geffner. This bag will include items for the holidays, including a Challah, honey, Membership Directory...and much more. Also included will be a copy of the Lev Sim Shalem Mahzor for your use. Please email email@example.com
or call (732) 349-1244 ext. 200, and let us know if you can pick up your tote bag on September 16th to September 18th (before 3pm), with a preferred time and if you need an extra Mahzor. If you are unable to pick up your tote bag, but still wish to have an extra Mahzor, please let us know - we will make every attempt to deliver prior to Yom Tov. Please respond by Sunday, September 13th.
2. We are preparing a New Year Video of members sending wishes of L'shana Tovah/Happy New Year, to be shared on social media and our website. If you wish to be included, please email a 30 second clip, no longer, to firstname.lastname@example.org
no later than Monday, September 14th. Please try to use MP4 format. Video clips maybe edited or eliminate if not appropriate.
3. The tradition of B'nai Israel has been to stand during the repetition of the Amidah during Ne'lah, the closing service of Yom Kippur and with the ark open, each congregant in attendance has the opportunity to ascend to the ark for a moment of silent pray. We want to pre-record this moment for each and every member of the congregation, however we must provide guidance, make appointments and adhere to all guidelines of B'nai Israel. Please review and be prepared to follow these guidelines and respond accordingly.
*If you wish to participate and will adhere to all guidelines, please email CBI5781@cbitr.org
