Kavvanah of the Week
This year we are exploring kavvanot - short orientations or intentions that reflect the part of ourselves that we bring to a particular moment.
Kavvanot can be used for moments and actions of any size and significance. They can arise out of quite mundane activities.  Here is an example:
For Putting On Eyeglasses
May I have the sight
to take in the full spectrum
of all the shades of a color
of all the colors of the world
of all the hues of humanity.
May I have the perception
of light and shadow
of depth and nuance
may I understand
that perspectives may change
but the truth remains true.
May I have the vision
to look at what is before me
and to rove beyond its contours
to the place where dreams are made
and hopes begin to become reality.
May this be so.
Rabbi Silver
Parashat Toldot
Torah: Genesis 26:23 - 27:27
Maftir: Genesis 27:24-27
Haftarah: Malachi 1:1 - 2:7

The Torah reading for this week is in the panel above. If you do not have a Humash at home you can find it on the link below. We are reading Triennial Year 2, but you might like to read the full portion (“Full Kriyah”).
Our Shabbat brochure with yahrzeits and simchas for this week is attached. You might wish to take special notice of those who are sick and take a moment to direct your thoughts towards them.
Thank you!
