After the two-minute silence, students and faculty came into the Beit Knesset to the drum beat played by Senior Yoni Katz. TABC's Yom HaShoah program began with a presentation by senior Eli Tennenbaum who provided a student's perspective on the Shoah. Eli's powerful and erudite words set the tone for what was to be a moving, inspirational, and meaningful program. Senior Avinoam Wizman served as emcee for the candle lighting ceremony. In turn, he introduced Moshe Golubtchik '19, Ari Kaminetzky '20, Max Krantz ' 19, Dovid Pearlman '19, Yoni Weinreich '19, Yoav Zolty ' 19, each of whom told the story of their relatives who were victims of Nazi cruelty during the Holocaust, and then lit a candle in their memory or honor. Senior Jacob Blumenthal and Freshman Nani Rudnitzky read poems which moved the audience greatly. Mr. Aryeh Tiefenbrunn led Mrs. Reichardt's Holocaust Studies class in singing  Oyfn Pripetshik and  Last Night I Had A Dream I Was In Heaven, accompanied by Senior Seth Maza . During the singing, a Power Point presentation created by Bill Bradin about his father, our guest speaker which included historical photos and information, was shown in the background. Senior Oren Neuwirth introduced the guest speaker Mr. Samuel Judkiewicz Bradin who described his personal experiences growing up in Poland and during the Shoah. His talk was inspirational and he answered students' questions afterward. In one answer, he made it clear to all that there was no place for Jews to go due to immigration restrictions in Palestine, the United States and elsewhere. Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Adler concluded the program with an emotional recitation of Kel Maleh Rachamim. All in attendance were not only left with Mr. Bradin's directive of continuing to tell the story, but also gained a deeper appreciation for the miracle of the State of Israel. Varsity Soccer Wins Regular Season Finale

Barnstormer Over Thunder

Put this one in the record books. The Varsity Soccer team won an ultimate classic over the JEC Thunder 11-10 in their final game of the regular season in a match that may go down as one of the most memorable of the MYHSAL soccer season. The two teams traded goals throughout the first quarter, heading into the latter part of the first half tied at four. The Storm were shut out the entire second quarter with JEC scoring two goals late in the half, and the Storm headed into the locker room down 6-4. But senior captain Yonadav Rimberg took matters into his own hands- or feet- to kick off the second half, scoring two goals and assisting on another to give the Storm a 7-6 lead. After another tying goal from the Thunder, Natan Rifkind '20, Daniel Becker '20, and Daniel Deschino '19 gave the Storm their largest lead of the game at 10-7 heading into the final quarter. Unfortunately, JEC was able to claw its way back and score three unanswered goals as well and the game was once again tied, this time at 10-10. It was clear whoever scored the next goal was going to be the hero. Enter senior Yechiel Keiser. While his initial shot rang off the post, Keiser was the first one to react and knocked home the rebound to give the Storm their final lead of the night. Senior Avraham Kahan made some phenomenal saves in net to seal the Thunder's fate and the fans stormed the court to celebrate the big victory. The team finishes the regular season with a 7-1 record and now waits to see who they will meet in the first round of the playoffs.

The JV team also won on the road at Frisch 4-3 to win the division and earn home court advantage throughout the playoffs. What a night for TABC soccer!
