Around Beth Am

Join Beth Am's Social Action Committee for our monthly meeting on August 23rd at 7pm at Beth Am, where, in addition to discussing our ongoing work and future plans, we'll be stuffing backpacks with school supplies for students at our neighborhood school, Dorothy I. Height Elementary, in collaboration with Repair the World. We are suggesting that folks donate $18 to cover the cost of supplies. Click here if you're able to donate. Everyone is welcome to the event, whether you're able to contribute or not. No registration required.

Tichon Beth Am (Beth Am High School) will meet each Sunday night during the academic year from 6PM-7:30 PM. At 6 we join for dinner and time together, and then break into our electives from 6:30PM-7:30 PM.

If you (parents or students) have any questions or would like to talk more about this, please set up time to talk with Rav Tyler who can be reached at ([email protected]) or (410) 523-2446 Ext 1115.

Madrichim are 9th-12th grade students who serve as mentors and teachers to our Jewish Discovery Lab students.

Madrichim can apply to work with grades K-6 on Sundays and/or Wednesday afternoons. All Madrichim will be required to attend a Madrichim orientation on Sunday August 28th and will participate in a brand new Community Madrichim program, for high school students at Conservative Synagogues across Baltimore. This program will include 6 in person meetings that will end at 1:30 PM. (Dates: 9/18/22 | 10/16/22 | 11/20/22 | 1/8/23 | 2/12/23 | 4/23/23)

Email Rav Tyler to set up an interview time.

Mehallelim were the Levites who brought joyful music into services at the time of the Temple in Jerusalem. At Beth Am we are so lucky to have our own Mehallelim, members of the congregation have taken on this role to help bring each of us into prayer.

The choir will rehearse periodically throughout the summer and will help lead the congregation in prayer through the High Holiday Season.

Singers of all levels are welcome to join! If you have questions about the time commitment or participating please email Rav Tyler.

If you are interested in participating this High Holiday season, please email Julian Krolik.
