Next up on the holiday parade (i.e. the Jewish calendar) is Chanukah! The first candle is lit on Thursday December 10 at dusk. Beth Emet is creating some fun Zoom congregational celebrations at 6:30 pm on all eight nights, and even more in-person safe festivities for families with young children! All of these are open to the community, so please share with your friends and family, both far and near. Details are in Wednesday's EmetMail.
Zoom fatigue—it’s a real thing, and for young kids who experience the world through all their senses, even more so. The challenge of educators is to find techniques that engage children and their parents, even if we must be remote. Our team has really stepped up, and Beth Emet offers an enticing variety of options, from Gan Yom Rishon on Sundays for kids 3-5, which includes yoga, art, music and stories, to weekly Friday 10am singing and dancing with Cantor Kotler, to Jamberry Music, co-sponsored by JBaby, and our monthly Tot Shabbat. Parents of young kids continue to stay connected with Game Night, Wine Time, and others adult and/or family gatherings coming this winter. Please let us know if you’re interested in learning more—and ‘like’ our revamped Young Family Facebook page.
From all of us at Beth Emet, we hope you had a joyous and safe Thanksgiving, and look forward to many nights of Chanukah celebrations together!
Shabbat shalom,
Kathy Kaberon
