Is Peace Possible?
Sadly it was a deadly week in Israel with several stabbings and violence occurring within minutes on Tuesday while Joe Biden was meeting with Shimon Peres at the Peres Center for Peace less than a mile  away. An American tourist, Taylor Force, was killed and 10 others were injured. Taylor was a West Point grad and US Army vet and was visiting the country with his wife (also injured) to learn about Israeli technology. The governments of the Palestinian people, Hamas and the PA range in their culpability, to this and all terrorist attacks, from encouragement to glorification.  If pro-Palestinian activists really wanted to help their cause, they would focus their pressure on the weak, corrupt, brutal Palestinian leadership... the true obstacle to Peace. Israel on the other hand focuses her efforts on healing the world.  If this video doesn't bring Israel pride to your hearts, then your chest must be hollow:

On Strike
Currently, Peace in the West Bank is secondary (if that) to the local leaders current concern of a massive teachers strike which has left kids class-less since early February.  The problem is low wages as most teachers need 2nd jobs just to stay afloat. This deadlock situation has led to much unrest... not good for anyone, including their "neighbors".

XX Chrom Power
Did you know the first International Women's Day occurred in 1909?  Now 107 years later, there is still much too much international gender inequality not to mention flat out female abuse.  March 8th marked International Women's Day and this year's theme (blessed by the UN) is Planet 50-50 by 2030 with the intent of global genders eqaulity within the next 14 years. A major shift in the XY Chromosome mindset is needed to equalize the imbalanced situation.  Speaking of brave voices to help right our imbalanced globe,  Bill Mahr spotlighted a brave Sunni Muslim woman by the name of Raheel Raza She  appeared  in the film Honor Diaries (about honor killing of Muslim women) and for 25 years she has been  researching  and educating (anyone who will listen) about Muslim beliefs and behaviors. There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world and it is the fastest growing religion soon to outnumber Christians. She has created this 14 minute video that I highly recommend. It is eye-opening and informative especially for  liberal  voices (like Ben Affleck as you'll see)

A Good Decision
A positive step for pro-choice supporters (which might be foreshadowing the Texas decision) occurred at the Supreme Court when the Justices ruledtemporarily, to halt a restrictive Louisiana law (similar to the Texas law) which would have closed all but 1 of Louisiana's abortion clinics. Once the Texas decision is made in early June, it will take precedence over other State's laws.

Our Candidates
2.4 million Michiganders (doubling the last election) voted in our primary this week and surprisingly Sanders snagged the Dems and unsettlingly, Trump mesmerized the repubs. Clinton had a safe lead in the polls but it seemed only landlines were phone surveyed and most young Sanders supporters don't even own home phones today.  Then there were the Hillary fans who skipped the Dem ballot (thinking she had the election tied up) and voted Repub against Trump which didn't work either. And lastly, several Detroit precincts registered Zero ballots from their older machines during the busy voting day. Sanders won our State by only 18,350 votes from over 1/5 million ballots, which proves every vote counts.  The On Again, Off Again possibility of a Bloomberg candidacy has finally been squashed when Michael decided not to throw his hat in the ring.  He is concerned about pulling a Ralph Nader  (circa 2000) which could hand the election to Trump or Cruz. This is what we are missing:

Remembering Nancy
Condolences to her family, friends, community, country and the world as we mourn and remember the life of Nancy Reagan.   Mrs. Reagan was best known for encouraging all to just say  "no to drugs" and "yes to stem cell research".  She was the loyal, elegant, stalwart protector of her "man", President Ronald Reagan through his presidency and especially through his illness with the devastating Alzheimer Disease. May she rest in peace alongside her beloved husband.
Nancy Davis Reagan

Remembering George
Condolences to his family, friends and the global music lover community on the passing of George Martin, the talented fatherly fifth Beatle plus producer extraordinaire. He was beloved by the musicians he touched with his creative vision and ear for greatness.  He was a classically trained pianist and oboist that led the pack among musical geniuses. May he rest in peace in musical heaven.
Sir George Henry Martin

Inspirational Music
Our election season is a time to Raise our Hands and speak our minds by casting our ballot to help "tikkun" our nation. I hope our nation picks the best candidate to heal and improve our country?  For some Hand Raising inspiration, enjoy this classic (1969) Tom Jones and Janis Joplin duet.

For those of you who will be near London on July 3rd, you might want to take advantage of this musical Tapestry.  I wish a US visit was in the works.

Green Beer and Chocolate Hamentashen
For those of you who celebrate the patron saint of Ireland...Happy St. Patrick's Day on March 17th!  Apparently, the lenten restriction of alcohol consumption is lifted on this day...hence the appearance to green beer.  And as Purim is on its way, (for all you bakers) save me one of these chocolate chip filled chocolate hamantashen (recipe included):
More on the holiday of Purim next week.

Time to Rethink
They have yet to eliminated this obsolete system that seems to do more harm than good and even might put some of us at risk for a stroke. But, till the powers to be change the system, don't forget to set your clocks ahead Saturday night as Daylight Saving Time starts Sunday March 13th at 2:00am. This article will give you more than you need to know on this topic including a historical video of DST's beginnings and a musical video dedicated to the clock changing behavior.

Wishing you and your family a
Sweet Shabbat Shalom!

This month marks the 50th yahrzeit of Rabbi Morris Adler who was shot by a delusional suicidal congregant. This tragic story is memorialized in this HaAretz article:

Mazel Tov to friend and local brilliant physician,  Dr. Eva Feldman on being acknowledged as one of America's top doctors at this year's Annual National Physician of the Year Awards. Eva is one of the foremost leading experts on Stem Cell Research and her efforts are and will make a tremendous impact on the wellbeing of man/womankind.
