IMPORTANT MESSAGE
Pikuach nefesh, the protection and preservation of life, is a fundamental value of Judaism and of B’nai Moshe. The current public health situation related to the Delta variant - its ease of transmission and its impact on both the vaccinated and unvaccinated, has driven the leadership of B’nai Moshe to make the prudent decision to implement a face mask requirement at the synagogue. Effective immediately, face masks are required for all persons attending congregational activities - religious services, meetings, and other in-person activities, regardless of vaccination status. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these difficult times.

Learning From The Past
To Build a Better Future
On Shabbat morning we will observe two important dates that go together in the most special way.
The Shabbat between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur is called “Shabbat Shuvah – The Shabbat of Returning or Repentance.”
This Shabbat is also the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9-11.
What do these have in common?
The returning/repentance that we do during the ten days from Rosh Hashana to Yom Kippur is all about returning to our true selves, reviewing what we have done, where we have gone astray, and LEARNING FROM OUR PAST TO SET A BETTER PATH FOR OUR FUTURE.
When we have a memorial for something like 9-11 we remember the people who were taken from us and we reflect on the LESSONS WE CAN LEARN FROM SUCH AN EVENT THAT CAN HELP US PAVE A BETTER PATH FORWARD.
This Shabbat we will be blessed to hear the first-hand stories of those who were close to the attacks and the lessons they took with them until this day.
I look forward to marking this special day with you all.

ADL CEO: We ‘apologize without caveat’ for opposing Islamic center near Ground Zero
“We were wrong, plain and simple,” Jonathan Greenblatt wrote days before Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. He said he wrote the op-ed in a spirit of teshuvah - trying to correct the mistakes the ADL had made,

A Fun Yom Kippur Song.
While there is no doubt that there is plenty of deep music to usher us into the Yom Kippur Holiday, We should also remember that the Rabbis called Yom Kippur "One of the Happiest Days of the Year."
In that vein I am offering you a 20 second clip of Ben Platt and Zoey Deutch's Yom Kippur Theme song.
While there is MUCH MORE to the holiday than just their song - sometimes we need the levity to allow us to enter into the holiness of the day!

Yom Kippur is one of the most misunderstood holidays.
Take a few minutes and browse the articles here (even print a few out to bring with you to synagogue) so that you can connect with the flow of the service and get the most out of the day in terms of personal growth and transformation.

Due to CDC recommendations, we are now requiring masks while in the building for both vaccinated and non-vaccinated individuals.
Additionally, we ask that when you walk into the sanctuary, you not sit directly in front of, behind, or next to anyone who does not reside in your household. Please be considerate that there are people who prefer keeping a safe distance.
We will still be streaming our services on Zoom and YouTube for those who will be participating from home. No one will be left behind.
