COMFORT
By Jo Strausz Rosen
Another horrible day in the life of America captured repeatedly in the news. We are here again, resoundingly sad, angry, and stunned by the horror of gun violence. Are we able to turn the page in our heads? It gets harder and harder to do so - the sadness in each of us scarring over the deep bruises.
EIGHT OVER EIGHTY
Our 29th Annual Eight Over Eighty Celebration aired this past Sunday. If you were unable to attend, enjoy the recording and toast the honorees! As the largest yearly fundraiser for residents at Jewish Senior Life, we are grateful to all who support us.
Volunteer at JSL and learn why giving=getting! Volunteers are an essential part of exciting programs for our residents. Visit the Volunteer Opportunities page to see how you too can make a difference.

SHABBAT SHALOM
Rabbi Dovid S. Polter, Community Chaplain
To Celebrate Together
Mazel tov!

Our greater Detroit community is once again celebrating its spectacular annual Bessie Spectorz’l” Older Adult Celebration. It will be held virtually on Friday, May 27th at 12:00pm

This heartwarming and beautiful event grows richer each year.

The number 95 is a healthy and happy number. It marks a perfect oxygen level. This event serves as the oxygen and the lifeline of our great community.

Additionally, 95 is the numerical value of two feminine Hebrew names, Yaffa and Malkah.

Yaffa means beautiful and Malkah symbolizes royalty.

Truly, beauty and royalty accompany the esteemed senior members in attendance.

Seniors, thank you for helping us maintain our oxygen level.
