LINK's Picnic: Something for Everyone

LINK’s annual picnic/family day was held this past Sunday May 12th at Cheviot Hills Park. It was coordinated by Rabbi Moishe Brull, the Assistant Rav. Under a bright and warm sun, there were many interactive games for children of all ages as well as a special magic show presentation and, of course, laser tag. For the men, there were a couple of spirited and highly competitive basketball games. In addition, there were several creative art projects with LINK's Youth Activities coordinator. A good time was had by all!

Today is Lag Ba’Omer. We will not say tachanun today. According to all customs, it is permitted to shave and take haircuts today (after sunrise) and to listen to music.

Mazel Tov to Rabbi & Rebbetzin Asher and Batyah Brander on the Bas Mitzvah of their granddaughter Rachel Yehudis. Mazel Tov to the parents, Rabbi & Mrs. Eli and Esther Malka Heller! May she grow as a Bas Yisroel in Yiras Shamayim and Midos Tovos!

Mazal Tov to Rabbi Chaim and Ariela Sher who gave birth to a baby boy last week. The bris was in Israel on 5/11 and the name is Dovid Beinish. It is interesting that Yonah's father's name was Dovid Beinish and his grandfather's name was Chaim Eliyahu. Yonah's son's name is Chaim Eliyahu and his son's name is Dovid Beinish.  Mazal Tov to the grandparents, Yonah and Adinah Sher and Dan and Bonnie Bitran from Malden Mass. May the parents be zocheh to raise their son to a life of Torah, Chuppah and Ma’asim Tovim!

Mazel Tov to Gary and Leora Ganchrow on the birth of a grandson to Akiva and Avigail Ganchrow in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Eretz Yisroel! May they be zocheh to have the Bris on time and to raise their son to a life of Torah, Chuppah and Ma’asim Tovim!

Mazel Tov to Hadar and Rebecca Rothstein on the Bar Mitzvah of their son Dovid at LINK this past Monday. May he continue to grow in Torah, Yiras Shamayim and Midos Tovos!

Thank you to Yehoshua Frankel for donating 24 Pirkei Avos in memory of his father Chaim Alexander Yitzchok Frankel. These will be used at the weekly Shabbos Pirkei Avos Shiur.  

Friendly Reminders for Shabbos Morning Children’s Groups

1. Parent(s) MUST remain in the LINK building for the entire duration of the time that they leave their children at Shabbos Groups. 

2. For everyone's safety as well as for our congregants’ ability to be to daven with kavanah, please make sure that your child is either in their designated group or in the shul sanctuary supervised by you. We cannot have children roaming the hallways, or running in and out of the sanctuary, kitchen or classrooms.

3. As soon as davening ends, please go to your child's group and pick them up from the designated room.

The above rules will be strictly enforced
