KIDS CORNER

Shabbos with the Little Ones

Every Shabbos, we sing our Parshas Hashavua song:

מה פרשת השבוע? פרשת נח, בחומש בראשית.

What’s the Parsha of the week? Parshas Noach, in Chumash Bereishis.

Talking about Noah’s teiva and all the animals with bright, colorful pictures was so much fun, and the kids loved discovering each one!

Snack time was extra joyful! Each child had a plate of fresh veggies and crackers, arranged as a tasty and healthy rainbow. 🌈🥕🍅

In the older division, the boys’ and girls’ groups made either a rainbow or Teivas Noach with their treats. Seeing their excitement filled the room with warmth and light.

A Sweet Moment That Made Everyone Smile

While learning about the water of the Mabul in this week’s Parsha, we asked, “What do we have in the sky?”

Little Ezra Yosef Golerkansky, eyes wide with curiosity, pointed to a cup of water and said with a big smile,

“Agua (מים – water)!”

At just 16 months, Ezra’s pure joy and curiosity light up our Parsha time. ❤️ It’s clear that last Shabbos, he listened and learned beautifully from Parshas Bereishis!

We’re thrilled to welcome our new counselor, Nava Socher, who brings warmth and joy to our group. We wish her much hatzlacha!

DVAR TORAH BY YOSEF BECKER

In the beginning of Parshas Lech Lecha, Avrohom and Sarah pass by ‏מצרים. Avrohom tells Sarah to tell Paroh that she is Avrohom’s sister, and then tells her that as a result they will be rewarded by Paroh. Why would Avraham want to be rewarded by Paroh? Chazal Tell us that there is a concept in the Torah called מעשה אבות סימן לבנים which means Whatever the Avos do will be also done by the yidden later on.

When the Jewish people left ‏מצרים they received gold and jewelry from the Egyptians. So when Avraham wanted to receive rewards, it was not really for himself, he understood the concept of ‏מעשה אבות סימן לבנים and therefore, understood if he would be rewarded now, the Jews would later be rewarded in Mitzrayim. So he was really looking to help Klal Yisrael later on.
