ROSH CHODESH KISLEV

Tonight and tomorrow (Thursday night and Friday) is Rosh Chodesh Kislev. Shachris in the middle minyan will be at 6:45am. We cannot do Kiddush Levana until three full days since the Molad have passed, which means practically that we cannot do it until Sunday night. The latest time to do Kiddush Levana for the month of Kislev is Thursday night, December 4th until 10:00pm.

EARLIER SHABBOS SHACHARIS TIME

Because of the Zman Krias Shma, which is 9:06am this week, we will be starting Shacharis at 8:20am this Shabbos. We will start “Shochain Ad” at 8:50am (Psukei D’zimra will be said at the usual 30-minute pace).

MAZAL TOV

Mazal tov to Rabbi Daniel and Mrs. Tally Weinstock on the marriage Wednesday night in Lakewood of their daughter Ahuva to Chaim Yehoshua Wechsler of Miami Beach, Florida. May they build a Bayis N’Eman B’Yisroel!

KIDDUSH NOTE

For those who will not be at LINK to hear Kiddush on Shabbos, please be aware that Chatzos (halachic midday) is now 11:40am. One should endeavor to make/hear Kiddush before that time.

LEGAL HOLIDAY SHIUR

This Thursday, Thanksgiving day, we will have a Legal Holiday Shiur from Rabbi Avrohom Union, the Av Beis Din of the RCC beginning at 9:45am (preceded by Shachris at 8:30 and breakfast at 9:30). The topic will be “Danger! Psychological Hazards in Halacha.”

YAHRZEIT – STEVE LUXENBURG

This coming Sunday night and Monday (4th of Kislev) is the first yahrzeit of our dear friend and Talmid, Steve Luxenburg, Z"L. Steve passed away suddenly at the age of 55, one year ago. A few hours before his Petira, he had pledged $1000 to Rabbi Stern for our annual fundraising campaign that was ongoing. Steve grew steadily in his yiddishkeit over many years, but sprouted forth with great intensity over the past two years of his life. He was coming into his own, mastering seforim in the original, upgrading his observance, and entering the world of shidduchim. His untimely loss still reverberates with us today, and we wish his neshama an aliyah in Gan Eden on the yahrzeit. There will be a seudah at 6pm Sunday night, November 23. Please RSVP to Vic at 310-435-3144.

LINK AMBASSADORS

Hi everyone — we’re gearing up for our annual fundraising campaign, and we’d be thrilled to have you join us once again as an ambassador.

This year has been an expensive year of great progress (4 families living in our units and a 5th on the way!) making our goal of raising $1.5 million more important than ever.

This campaign is our primary source of support, and your partnership helps ensure LINK KOLLEL'S strength and stability to impact in a deep and meaningful way. We hope you’ll stand with us in this really important and holy effort. We want your strength!

On November 30th, we will also be hosting an ambassadors’ event to provide all the tools and guidance you’ll need to maximize your reach and help make this campaign a true success.

KIDS CORNER

Shabbos with the Little Ones

Even though it rained all Shabbos, the little ones arrived full of excitement!  We explored the middos of Rivka Imeinu using colorful pictures.  The children enjoyed playing with parsha-inspired decorations and were delighted to take a special one home — a necklace, a hair bow, or a treasure — making the experience truly memorable.  Although we didn’t go outside to play this time, it was such a joy to watch the rain pouring down together while singing “Mashiv HaRuach U’Morid HaGeshem.”

In the girls’ group, they spent time learning the parsha and were thrilled to wear their cute decorations.  They loved picking out their favorites, showing them to one another, and sharing in the joy of their sparkly treasures.

A Sweet Moment:

Tzvi Kranz stood before everyone and shared a d’var Torah.  He spoke about the beautiful middos of Rivka Imeinu — her remarkable kindness and how she was a true tzadekes. Kol hakavod to Tzvi — may you continue learning Torah with joy and love!
