Today's Immigration News

Refugees Relive Trauma as ICE Targets Them | NPR

The Trump administration has repeatedly said its immigration crackdown in Minnesota targets the worst of the worst. But more than 100 refugees with no criminal background have been unlawfully arrested, with many flown to a Texas detention center, according to a class action lawsuit. Many refugees say their experience of being targeted by ICE reminds them of the dangerous situations they fled in their home countries. "In Venezuela, pro-government paramilitary groups act this way," said the family member of one detained refugee. "They cover their faces; you can only see their eyes." Now, in the United States, these refugees say they are reliving that same fear.
