Celebrating Excellence in Church Leadership: Heidi Zinn Honored Nationally

Thanks to the generous support of the Shadow Rock Foundation and the Church Board, our own Heidi Zinn attended the 69th Annual The Church Network (TCN) Conference in July.

The Church Network is an inter-denominational professional association dedicated to strengthening and connecting church leaders in administration across the country. With over 400 church administrators, executive pastors, and vendors in attendance, this four-day conference offered keynote speakers, intensive seminars, and 20 hours of continuing education on topics such as leadership, transitions, human resources, facilities, artificial intelligence, and legal and tax matters in church settings.

During the conference, Heidi was honored as one of three national award winners and was the recipient of the 2025 Marvin Myers Service Award.

This prestigious award is named after F. Marvin Myers, a longtime leader and visionary in church administration. It recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to the field through chapter leadership, national service, and professional engagement. Award recipients are often described as “rising stars” or devoted long-term members who embody the values of TCN and actively support the organization’s mission to empower church leaders.

Heidi’s recognition not only reflects her professional excellence but also brings pride to Shadow Rock as she continues to serve our community with dedication and heart. You can learn more about The Church Network and its certification programs at thechurchnetwork.com.

Heidi's commitment to excellence and her love for Shadow Rock make her an excellent choice for helping us move into a new staff configuration with her as the Director of Operations. There are many moving parts to this transition. Among them is finding an assistant to the DOO with finance/accounting skills and experience. Keep her and the management of this process in your prayers.

USCIS Makes Plans To Implement Trump Administration Birthright Citizenship Order, Despite Federal Court Blocks | Bloomberg Law

On July 25, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced an implementation plan for President Donald Trump's executive order restricting birthright citizenship, despite it being currently blocked by federal courts. The Trump administration seeks to alter birthright citizenship — which is protected under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution — to include only children with at least one U.S. citizen parent or a lawfully permanent resident. Children whose parents are in the United States without authorization or in the country temporarily are excluded. The Department of Homeland Security and USCIS "will propose appropriate action to ensure that birth in the United States to individuals who possess lawful immigration status does not result in any negative immigration consequence for the child," the plan said.
