We are planning a little SRT (Shadow Rock Theology) get together on Sunday 9/14/2025 at 1:00 PM near the church. Are you a Shadow Rock Theology (AKA PJD, RS1) alum? If you are wanting to continue to debrief and/or hear more about Shadow Rock Theology, and if you have ever attended a retreat such as Shadow Rock Theology (most recently this past spring), or Profound Journey Dialog, please join us for an informal social. Dear Friends and Members of Shadow Rock,

I want to extend to you a personal invitation to participate in our Shadow Rock Theology Weekend.

This event is to explore and delve deeper into Shadow Rock’s unique theological history and identity. The event shares some foundational theological ideas and helps participants discern their relationship to such ideas. We hope that the event raises questions about participants' spiritual journeys and helps them find companions for their journeys. The event brings the symbols of the Cross and the Wedgeblade together, encouraging the question, “How can we be in the right relationship with history?”

We will use presentations, small group and large group discussions, individual meditation time, music, art, and videos to aid the process of discovery.

We regret that the facility cannot accommodate children. We will miss them this time around.

The event is at the Redemptorist Renewal Center in Tucson, AZ, the weekend of Nov. 7-9. The weekend costs $335 per adult (includes linen service, meals, and meeting room). If you can afford this expense, that is a great help, but the importance of this event and the invitation to you is such that scholarships are available.

We are offering the Theology Weekend because we prioritize the future well-being of our church and its place in the world. I am working to create multiple carriers of our theological DNA, and I hope you will be a part of it.

A Look Behind the Trump Administration's Immigration Memes | NPR

The White House and the Department of Homeland Security have been posting social media memes — some with white supremacist tropes — celebrating the administration's aggressive immigration crackdown. One shows President Donald Trump framed by eagles, fireworks, and a cloud of cash. The caption reads in part: "The deportations will continue." Another shows an 1872 painting that positively depicts white settlers displacing Native Americans. The posts illustrate the administration's redefining of who belongs in the United States, and they are deeply polarizing. The images conjure a narrative that "we had a wonderful white civilization and culture that has been decimated by these people who don't belong here, who just happen to not be white people, for the most part," said Heidi Beirich, co-founder of the Global Project Against Hate and Racism.
