What's for Lunch?

Shady Valley PTO

Good morning!

Happy Sunday! I hope you were able to enjoy the weekend, especially yesterday, with your family. After a nice warm day yesterday, and a Packers win today, I'm optimistic for a great week ahead.

Thank you,

Brad Hoffman - Principal

Tanya Brenner - Associate Principal

Change of clothing

At this age, various situations can pop up that require a change of clothes for kids. Things like falling in the mud, spilling milk at lunch or a bathroom accident happen pretty frequently around here. It's not a big deal, we can get kids changed and on with there day. But we could use a little help.

  • If you have not already, please send a change of clothes to school with your child. They can stay in their backpack, or some teachers have a place for them in the classroom
  • If your child came home with clothes that they borrowed from the health room, please return them washed.
  • If you have any extras, we could use some backups in the healthroom, especially boys pants (sizes 5-10)
  • And if you ever need help with clothing or any other needs, please reach out. We'd love to help. You can reach out in any way that you feel comfortable, to your child's teacher, to me, to the office or to our counselor or social worker. We're here to help.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is growing at a rapid rate. It is located in the hallway right inside our main entrance. Labeling your child's jackets and sweatshirts is a good way to keep things out of lost and found and in the possession of your child.

Outdoor clothing

The change of seasons is one of the best things about our area. But it can bring some unpredictability in what to wear. This weekend was a perfect example. To help, please check the weather forecast in the morning or the night before and help your child dress accordingly. Options are always great. As my dad always said (and now I do too), "It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it." Please label any clothing you do have. As hard as teachers try to help kids keep their things in their own spaces, hats and gloves seem to travel easily around the hallway. It's best to avoid the lost and found. And, as stated above, if you need help with winter clothing, please let us know.
