Winter Weather
The blast of winter weather this week prompts questions of "When do students go outside for recess and when do they stay in?"
This is Wisconsin, and we're built of the weather, so we try to get outside and enjoy the winter wonderland as much as possible. But sometimes it's too cold to be safe or reasonably comfortable. We us 0 degrees as our threshold. If the temperature, is below 0 with, or without, the windchill, we stay in. If it is above, we're outside and playing. So, it is important to make sure your child is dressed for the weather. We may limit portions of the playground if the weather and conditions make them unsafe, but we'll get out when we can.
On Thursday, the temperature wasn't an issue, but the snow was wet and sloppy, and we stayed in for recess to keep students dry. Several students were not dressed to handle the wet, snowy weather today.
If you're having trouble getting winter clothing for your child, we can help. Please reach out.
