Blood Drive - Register Today!

 The City of Shafter is teaming up with Shafter Rehabilitation & Nursing in hosting a blood drive on Friday, June 10.  REGISTER today and help us meet our Shafter goal!

Mosquitoes are small, blood-sucking insects. Sometimes mosquitoes carry germs like viruses that can spread to a person when a mosquito bites. After feeding on blood, a female mosquito will lay eggs on or near water. The young stages of a mosquito grow in standing water.

Prevent diseases spread by mosquitoes by protecting yourself from mosquito bites!

  • Use mosquito repellent.
  • Wear long sleeves and pants for extra protection.
  • Prevent mosquitoes from breeding by draining standing water around your home.


SPLASH PAD REOPENS


The Splash Pad will be open through the Labor Day Weekend. It will operate every day from 12PM-8PM.


The Splash pad will shut off every 15 minutes when not in use. Note that you must use the Splash Pad Actuator to activate the Splash Pad.


Also, be advised that operation may be restricted or discontinued should the City face water shortages or mandatory reductions. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 661-746-5002.

The Kern Council of Governments has provided a DRAFT 2022 REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION PLAN and SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES STRATEGY. Your comments and ideas are welcomed through June 16th by 5:00PM.
