Seniors Return to Elementary Schools for Clap Out
The Class of 2025 took one final walk through the halls where it all began earlier this week — and it was unforgettable. This year’s Senior Clap Out brought joy, hugs and maybe a few happy tears as our graduates returned to their elementary schools to celebrate with the next generation of Shaker learners. Huge thanks to the families, staff, students and volunteers who make this Shaker tradition so special every year!

Help Canvass for Ludlow Early Learning Center
We’re organizing a neighborhood canvassing effort to spread the word about the Ludlow Early Learning Center! This fantastic program, opening in Fall 2025, offers early childhood education for families in our community. Whether it’s handing out flyers, talking to parents, or simply sharing information on social media or at local events, every bit of help makes a big difference.
Please join us on Saturday, June 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to canvass the Lomond neighborhood! Meet at Gridley Park, 18300 Sherrington Road. Click here to register. Still want to help out, but can’t make it on June 14? Please reach out to Trina Jones at jones_t@shaker.org to canvass on your own schedule — we’d love to have you on board. It's a great way to support local families and strengthen our community!

Update from #FinanceFriday
Have you seen the #FinanceFriday posts on the Shaker Heights Schools Facebook and Instagram pages? If not, check them out on Fridays. We will share the same information in the Sunday eNews.
We’re back at it with another #FinanceFriday! Today, we will look at purchased services. Purchased services include third-party student transportation costs, expenses for tuition paid to other districts*, utility costs, and other services that the District may purchase.
*These costs are attributable to the District reimbursing other educating districts for services that are provided to our residents. These costs often support students with exceptional needs by reimbursing other districts for specialized services.
Purchases services account for approximately 13% of the District’s general fund spending.
Stay tuned for the next installment of #FinanceFriday!

Students Learn Geometry through Carnival Games
Students in Ms. Bena’s geometry classes at the High School recently had a Geometry Carnival! Ms. Bena implemented project-based learning (PBL) to help students learn about probability and statistics. They learned the rules of probability by developing carnival games. This was a unique twist on teaching probability, and the students enjoyed it! Many other students and staff joined in the fun! This was Ms. Bena’s first Geometry Carnival, and she expects more in the future!
