MY TRUTH
That Last Goodbye
By Cheryl Smith

Thomas Muhammad had been ill and dealing with health issues for several years but I was not one for prematurely writing his obituary. And Thomas wasn’t either as he worked right up to his last days, dying peacefully in his sleep on Monday, August 15, 2022. He left an indelible mark in so many places and with so many people and I will remember him and his works; as well as through his writings, his words.

People will be able to apply for up to $20,000 in
student loan forgiveness.

President Joe Biden announced on Wednesday that college graduates can get up to $20,000 in student loan forgiveness. More than half of Texas college graduates had student loan debt as of 2020, according to The Institute for College Access & Success. The Haitian Times
By Ashley Miznazi

When Jean Monestime completes his tenure on the 13-member Miami-Dade Commission in November, another Haitian American is likely to step up to fill the District 2 seat. Of the six candidates in the non-partisan race for the seat, the only one held by a Haitian American historically, four are Haitian.

On July 27 in New York, NY, after years of anticipation and fundraising, the Founder of the Jackie Robinson Foundation and the wife of Jackie Robinson, Mrs. Rachel Robinson opened The Jackie Robinson Museum. The museum will educate visitors by showcasing the life, legacy, and accomplishments of Jackie and Rachel Robinson, and not just their role in transforming America’s pastime, but their social justice activism. The Jackie Robinson Museum is the only Civil Rights museum in New York City.
The Path

As we walk through life's journey, we leave footprints. Some just show where we are going. Others redirect us when we get lost. Still others remain to guide those we leave behind. I see your footprints.
