September 2019
Dear Friends,

As summer turns to fall, bringing with it the beautiful transition of seasons, we want to thank you for your friendship and support of NATAL.

Trauma is universal, just as  its  impact.  Since this time last year, we have witnessed mass shootings in the US, terror attacks in the far east, and forest fires in the Amazon, to name a few. While our finger is on the pulse of Israel, we feel great responsibility to contribute to the recovery of people everywhere.

In Israel, we have seen rocket attacks and national emergencies, requiring NATAL to operate in emergency mode.  Just months ago, over 700 rockets were fired in two days, causing the tragic loss of 4 civilians. While the escalation was quick, the impact was widespread. Calls to NATAL's Helpline reached a peak, as did requests for clinical intervention, particularly for children.

This summer, wildfires caused the evacuation of thousands and the closing of schools.  Along with property damage came emotional distress. NATAL stood at the ready to offer support  - 24 hours a day.  Even in times of relative calm, NATAL works in the "day before", strengthening the resilience of communities for when they will need it most.   Underlying our work  i s our optimism and hope for a brighter and more peaceful future.

We invite you to read more about NATAL's work this year in our
2019 Midyear Report.   Please also mark your calendars for November 15th - NATAL's 7th Annual Running in Color event, and read more how you can join in person or virtually.

Wishing you Shana Tova, health and happiness in the new year.
