President Tapp responds to the selection of Shane Anderson as Senior Pastor of the Pioneer Memorial Church.

“It is with a deep sense of sadness, yet a heightened sense of honor to know that a Potomac pastor has been selected to lead one of the most prestigious pulpits and congregations in the Seventh-day Adventist denomination. Shane has accepted the invitation to be the Senior Pastor of the Pioneer Memorial Church located on the campus of Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

“For 19 years, Shane has faithfully shepherded students on the campus of Shenandoah Valley Academy and the New Market Church. His ability to lead the community members while successfully connecting with the academy, its faculty, and students is a testament to his broad-based ability to share God’s word with everyone.

“While we will miss Shane’s leadership and wisdom, we understand that when God calls, we must go. We are also saddened to be losing his lovely wife, Darlene, who has brought leadership to the community and innovation to the SVA campus family. Please join me in praying for Shane, Darlene, and their family as they transition to a different vineyard, and may he continue to Move Beyond The Walls as he seeks to expand the kingdom of God.”
