YOUR EFFORTS HELP

FEEL THE CALL?

We had a great time at Soul Care Saturday! We missed those of you who weren't there & have pictures to share. What do you have to share? When you share your skills, efforts and dollars you are supporting mission -- and that is what this organization is all about!

Wendy Campbell, 2023 NTC United Women in Faith President

New Photo Album!

Soul Care Saturday May 20 2023

Soul Care Saturday was an activity-based and intergenerational day for connecting, spiritual nourishment and joy! Together we experienced a wisdom walk, painting, meditation, poetry, worship, and lots of sisterhood fun. Check out our photo album.

Please share your UWF photos!

Pictures from your United Women in Faith gatherings help explain who we are as an organization. We do a lot of different things and are a very diverse group! Send an email with your pictures attached. Be sure to include the name & date of the event, your local unit name, and identify the women in the pictures.

YOUR HELP WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Audit

Our conference United Women in Faith needs to have a professional financial audit done annually. Of course, this expense reduces the funds we have to send to missions.

If you have the skills to do a financial audit would you consider doing it pro bono to help increase our pledge to mission?

Contact Lela Luxen, Treasurer, to discuss.

NTC 2023 Annual Conf

UWF TABLE @ NTC ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Would you like to share a smile and greet people at the United Women in Faith table at Annual Conference? You'll need to bring a smile to help answer questions, promote Mission u and our other programs and mission activities. People will be stopping by to pick up their T-shirts and buy their study books for Mission u, too. You'll see lots of friends!

Contact Barbara Weaver or Betsy Sterkel to schedule your shift.

Monday, June 12th & Tuesday, June 13th

DALLAS RESPONDS

MIGRANT WELCOMING CENTER

at Oaklawn UMC in Dallas

We are called by God to do good and practice justice, kindness, and love. John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, held that loving and caring for our neighbors is a spiritual practice that is just as important as worship and prayer.

Respond to the border crisis by serving at the Welcoming Center for legally approved asylum seekers at Oaklawn UMC. Volunteers will help serve meals, distribute resources, and other misc needs of the day. English and Spanish speakers are needed to be Travel Assistants coordinating timelines for guests at airports & bus stations, and Travel Escorts to help guests get to airports and bus stations. Volunteer here.

Learn more about the Dallas Migrant Center in this touching Dallas Morning News article.

Project Transformation

Project Transformation needs reading volunteers at several North Texas church sites this summer. Your group could provide an evening meal for the North Texas Corps members at the PT house near the SMU campus.

Sign-up to volunteer this summer.
