Dear Friends,

Summer is officially here, and with it, the joyful energy of families off on adventures, kids out of school and long, sun-filled days. And yet, even as we embrace the season, the weight of ongoing current events, both here and in Israel, may feel increasingly heavy. Let’s take this time to reconnect with what grounds us: family, community and purpose.

At Goodman JFS, summer is more than a pause—it’s a time of thoughtful preparation. Behind the scenes, we’re fine-tuning our communications, planning impactful fundraisers and aligning our priorities for a strong start to the new fiscal year. Every decision we make is guided by a single goal: to better serve our community.

I’m proud of all we’ve accomplished and even more inspired by what lies ahead. Together, with our staff, volunteers, donors and community partners, we’re creating meaningful change.

Wishing you a safe and restful summer. Remember, we are here for you, no matter where you are.

Please be sure to stay connected with us on social media to stay informed.

Sincerely,

Randy Colman

Goodman JFS Named a South Florida Top Workplace!

Goodman JFS is proud to be named a 2025 South Florida Top Workplaces by Sun-Sentinel

Based on direct employee feedback, this recognition reflects our commitment to cultivating a culture of respect, collaboration and purpose-driven work. It’s a testament to the passion our team brings to serving the community every single day.

Thank you to our extraordinary staff for making Goodman JFS not just a (top) workplace—but a place of significance, compassion and care.

Joshua's Path Disability Services BOOST Graduation Day

This May, we celebrated a heartwarming milestone with Joshua’s Path Disability Services BOOST program graduates! Over 20 neurodivergent adults were honored for their progress in building social skills, independence and a true sense of belonging. BOOST (Building On Our Strengths Together) is a year-round program for neurodivergent adults that combines classroom-based social skills with real-world community engagement.

Honoring Holocaust Survivors

We had the honor of celebrating over 125 Holocaust survivors in honor of Holocaust Survivor Day this June. One of the largest known gatherings of its kind in the region, each survivor received a medal of honor recognizing their strength, perseverance and contributions to Jewish life in America.

A highlight of the event was the induction of 13 survivors into Goodman JFS' “Centenarian Club”, celebrating those who have reached 100 years or more—a rare milestone made even more profound given their lived experiences.

Why It Matters? Broward County is home to one of the largest survivor populations in the country, and Goodman JFS plays a vital role in supporting their dignity, independence and quality of life through dedicated services. Holocaust Survivor Day is a global effort to not only remember, but to celebrate survival and ensure that future generations never forget.

Legacy & Leaders, Securing the Future

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a meaningful evening celebrating our L’Dor V’Dor Legacy Society.

This special group embodies the spirit of l’dor v’dor—from generation to generation—by making legacy gifts that ensure the essential work of Goodman JFS continues well into the future. Their generosity helps provide dignity and hope to thousands of individuals and families across Broward County.

Your legacy can do the same. By planning today, you can create a ripple effect of kindness that touches lives for years to come.
