New Resource: Smart Community Resource Center

U.S. Department of Transportation

The U.S. Department of Transportation has developed the Smart Community Resource Center (SCRC), a new platform to connect states, Tribal governments, and local communities with resources to support the development of intelligent transportation systems and smart community transportation programs


SCRC primarily contains resources created by USDOT and ITS JPO., but the Department plans to update the website with resources from other Federal agencies and external organizations.

Measure AA Community Grants Program – San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority

Applications FY22-23 are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis, through June 30, 2023. $600,000 is available in the current opportunity, with a maximum award of $200,000.

Transit & Shared Mobility Funding

Hybrid & Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) - California Air Resource Board (CARB)

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. $196.6 million is available for standard HVIP voucher requests.


Zero-Emission Transit, School, and Shuttle Buses – VW Environmental Mitigation Trust California Air Resource Board (CARB) & Valley Air District

Applications for shuttle and transit buses are currently being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. $130 million is available in the current funding round.

A pre-proposal form must be submitted by August 25, 2023. Final applications for Round 1 have a deadline of September 5, 2023. Approximately $84 million is available in the upcoming funding cycle.


Regional Resilience Planning Grant Program - Governor's Office of Planning and Research

Intent to Apply Surveys are currently being accepted, with applications due August 29, 2023, by 5 p.m., PST. Minimum award of $150,000 and maximum award of $650,000.


Regional Resilience Implementation Grant Program - Governor's Office of Planning and Research

Intent to Apply Surveys are currently being accepted, with applications due August 29, 2023, by 5 p.m., PST. Minimum award of $650,000, and maximum award of $3 million.


Regional Climate Collaboratives - Strategic Growth Council

Pre-Proposals for Round 2 will have a deadline of September 6, 2023, with full proposals due on December 6, 2023. Approximately $8.5 million will be available in the upcoming funding cycle. Small grants will range from $500,000 to $999,999 and large grants will range from $1 million to $1.75 million.
