Share Your Feedback on the CHIA Copy & Paste Survey
The use of copy/paste functionality within the electronic health record (EHR) has a significant impact on the accuracy and integrity of clinical documentation and patient care. With the advancement of technology, issues with copy/paste practices are having a negative impact on documentation across the continuum of care.

CHIA continuously aims to improve health information integrity, accuracy, and security. As part of CHIA’s Strategic Goal to Catalyze Health Information Integrity, the CHIA Health Information Integrity Committee, is gathering member input to assist in the development of an EHR Copy/Paste Toolkit that is specific to California.

The first step in the process is to conduct a survey of CHIA members to understand the current environment for copy/paste practices. In collaboration with the San Diego Mesa College HIT students, the CHIA Health Information Integrity Committee has developed a brief survey about the functionality of copy and paste, its usage, best practices, and its impact on the integrity of healthcare data. Your response will help with the development of standardize guidelines to ensure health information accuracy and integrity.

CHIA is asking members for information regarding your current copy/paste practices within your EHR. Please take a moment to complete the survey and assist the CHIA Health Information Integrity Committee create a robust Copy/Paste Toolkit for use by CHIA members.

The survey should take 10 minutes or less and are open through January 20
