You may give gifts, tithes, and offerings online below or mail in a check to Grace Community Christian Church.

Thank you for your heartfelt gifts and generous support. Thank you for making space for Grace to be shared between, among, and beyond our walls.

Your faithful tithes and offerings make a difference. We are grateful for your ministry.
The gospel of Matthew, Luke, and Mark all include the story of the rich man seeking eternal life. A triple threat! Remember how the man comes to kneel before Jesus with his question: “what more must I do to inherit eternal life?”

How challenging it is to hear Jesus answer his question:
“Go, sell what you own and give to the poor.”

Challenging, because on the world scale, all of us are like this man.
Wealthy! We have MANY possessions.
Does putting yourself in his position change how you hear this story?
Here’s the truth. Following Jesus is not always easy!
For most of us, it’s tough to imagine giving away our wealth.
After all, how will we live if we give like that?
Gratefully, Jesus teaches his disciples that salvation is possible, even for the rich.

Today, before you give online, take a moment to give thanks that your offering isn’t measured by what you COULD give. It isn’t the means by which you receive eternal life.

Instead, make your offering in gratitude that God makes all things possible –
even we who are wealthy and not yet able to give away all we have, receiving eternal life.

Offering prayer

We give you what is already yours, God, for you are Creator of all. But we pray you will receive our gifts, and use them to respond to the needs all around us. Help us find ways to truly see the reality which is right before us: of our amazing wealth in a world filled with many who struggle for daily sustenance. Then, once we have seen, embolden us to share ever more, that your Realm may be made known on earth, as it is in heaven. Amen

Opening Prayer

God of Grace,

Thank you for the gift of this new day.
Thank you for gathering with us and providing the free gift of your grace to bless us in this particular time and place.

As we worship you, strengthen us to face the challenges of our lives, knowing you’ve provided the One who goes before us without sin. Help us believe and live into your presence, even as we pray in the strong name of Jesus, Amen
Prayers of God's People

O God,
we remember times of blessing in our lives:
when we have been released
from suffering and despair,
when we have been freed
to reclaim life and hope;
but we also remember times of hardship:
when we have been cast out
into deep waters,
when we have been banished in exile
from the world we call home.
O God,
it is hard to claim
the hope and promise of the past
in the presence of today’s troubles. Open our eyes to your presence that we may trust you in the deepest parts of our being.
Meet us today with your good news
that we may be renewed
by the power of your presence. Amen.
Psalms 66:1-12
1Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth;
2 sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise. 3 Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! Because of your great power, your enemies cringe before you. 4 All the earth worships you; they sing praises to you, sing praises to your name.” Selah
5 Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds among mortals. 6 He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. There we rejoiced in him, 7 who rules by his might forever,
whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let the rebellious not exalt themselves. Selah
8 Bless our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard, 9 who has kept us among the living, and has not let our feet slip.
10 For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried. 11 You brought us into the net; you laid burdens on our backs;
12 you let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a spacious place.
